Quote:GMO's don't have pesticides. They're specifically engineered to withstand diseases and parasites without the use of pesticides. There are certainly drawbacks to using GMO's and their effect on human health is far from full understood but it's certainly not from the use of pesticides.
And like it or not, GMO's could very well save billions of lives. The world as it is developing now is headed for a massive overcrowding problem and crop yields right now are just barely keeping pace with demand. GMO's, with their massively improved crop yields and ability to grow in places that used to considered effectively barren, look to be able to help us keep pace and we might even reach a point where we're ahead of demand.
As for your last point, just remember the golden rule of statistics; correlation does not imply causation.
Thanks for this. Also, in case anyone was wondering, even organically grown foods have pesticides applied to them.

The top seven global warming alarmist setbacks in 2013
Hold your champagne glasses high this holiday season, because the end of 2013 marks the 17th year without global warming.

This year has been trying for climate scientists and environmentalists who have been trying hard to explain away the 17-year hiatus in global warming and link “extreme weather” to rising greenhouse gas emissions — despite strong evidence to the contrary. There has been a breakdown in the manmade global warming consensus, and some even argue we are headed for an ice age.

The bottom line is, CO2 is a greenhouse gas, we are pumping enormous quantities into the atmosphere, and the long term warming trend remains intact. Global warming is pretty easy to understand, just like evolution is pretty easy to understand, but some people just choose their side and then cherry pick their facts to support their position.
