Hey all!
I'm looking to be a part of a dynasty league for next year, I am a self admitted noob when it comes to Dynasty league, but really wanted to give it a go.
I was wondering if anyone would fancy helping me start one up and if anyone is fancying joining one?
If you guys want to be ballers, myffpc.com does baller dynasty leagues. I just did one this year for the first time and had a blast, but the cheapest leagues they have are $500. They also do like a world series of fantasy football type thing. Winner just got paid out over $250,000.
I have been in a four sport dynasty league that has lasted 12 years. In the first 6 years it was free and there was a lot of turnover, but we added money ($10 per sport was enough) and it's been pretty stable since then. We play with 18 teams and 40+ mnd rosters in each sport (18 for basketball) so it is time consuming to field that deep of a team, but if you can get a solid core and a place to find new blood on a regular basis, it can last.
Im still definitely up for one and if we can get even 10 people it would be really good.
I've also joined a league a friend of mine was starting which still has spots,
Its a 32 team Dynasty league starting next year. Its 50$ each per season to be distributed as prize money. Each player picks an NFL team to play as (sorry obviously the Jags is gone).
But theres 6 spots left on that so if anyone would like in I can get you in touch with the right guy.
I would still very much like a smaller one of 10 or so members though as i often find them quite funner and sometimes more challenging, I think when each team has alot of good talent there has to be more brave decisions on who to drop etc, IE: In my Semi Finals match up this sunday just gone I had to have the choice of AP or Cj2K to start and i went with CJ, ended up winning by 3 points (CJ2K got like 5 more points than AP).
But point is I think its good to see big players benched in smaller leagues and sometimes requires more skill.
Ok, they both are:
NFL Dynasty League By-Laws
<strong>"Overview- The following information will detail a 50-man full keeper fantasy football league, which will include individual defensive players. Each week you will start a defensive and offensive line-up consisting of 8 offensive and 11 defensive players. The totals from each side of the ball will be added for a weekly score. This league will start with a 55 round draft that will include rookies and veteran players being available at any point during the draft. Each year you will keep all 55 players over, but will need to cut 6 players to make room for your rookies that will be drafted in the yearly rookie draft. This process will be continued year after year.</strong>
Specifics
Rosters
You will have a 50-man roster + a 5 man practice squad and it breaks down as the following minimums:
Offense
3 QB
3 RB
4 WR
2 TE
2 K
Defense
4 DE/DT
5 LB
3 CB
3 S
- The final 12 players can be any combination of any position to fill up your roster. Also the 5 players on the practice squad can be any position.
Drafts
<strong>Initial League Draft – This will be a 50 round draft that you will be able to select any position, either a rookie or veteran, in any round that you see fit. This draft will be held on the website that has been chosen to run this league(myfantasyleague.com), and each round will have a 12 hour timer. This does not mean that you should take the twelve hours to make your selection, this is simply done to give everyone enough time to log on and make their picks, without being to much of a burden on their lives. However, you do have the option of stacking your draft picks for future rounds. If you know the position or at least the direct you will be going, please stack your picks. I can see someone being uncomfortable with stacking picks that are 3 or four round out, but if you are picking within 10 picks, I do not see how you could at least have a hand full of players that you are considering. I am simply asking all owners to be prepared when this draft begins. That will insure that this will be enjoyable for all of us.</strong>
<strong>Rookie Drafts – 6 rounds of either offensive or defensive selection prior to the beginning of training camp in the NFL. All selections are held over until the start on the upcoming season, but at that point teams will be required to cut down to the normal roster limitations.</strong>
<strong>Weekly Line-Ups</strong>
Everyone that is receiving this email is in either one or both of the keeper leagues that I am a part of right know, and in regards to the offensive line-up options, they are the same.
<strong>Offensive Line-Ups</strong>
QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLEX (WR OR TE), K
QB, RB, RB, WR, TE, TE, FLEX (WR OR TE), K
QB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, FLEX (WR OR TE), K

<strong>Defensive Line-Ups</strong>

These defensive formations represent a 4-3, 3-4, Nickel, and dime packages, and can be changed to suit for weekly needs just as they would on the offensive side of the ball.
All lineups can be adjusted prior to kickoff of the game of the player in question, and will work the same as shat you have become used too in your other leagues.
<strong>Points</strong>
This again should be review on the offensive side of the ball:
-1 fumbles for any offensive position.
QB
1 point for every 25 yards passing
1 point for every 10 yards rushing
4 points for a passing TD
6 points for rushing / receiving TD
-2 points for every interception
RB
1 point for every 10 yards rushing
1 point for every 10 yards receiving
6 points for rushing / receiving TD
WR/TE
1 point for every 10 yards rushing
1 point for every 10 yards receiving
6 points for rushing / receiving TD
<strong>K</strong>
1 point for an extra point
3 points FG 39 yards or less
4 points FG 40 – 49 yards
5 points FG 50 – 59 yards
6 points FG 60+ yards
<strong>Defensive points will be as follows and hold true regardless of position:</strong>
Solo Tackle – 1
Assisted Tackle – .5
Sack – 3
Assisted Sack – 1.5
Interception –4
Recovered Fumble – 4
Forced Fumble – 2
Defended Pass – 1
Safety – 2
TD – 6
Blocked FG - 3
Blocked Punt - 3
Blocked PA – 3
This means that K Bulluck, who is projected to be the highest produced LB in this scoring system by a fantasy football website will score approximately 167 points next year highest rated CB R Barber projected at 127, S S Knight at 129, and DL J Taylor at 120. Compare these numbers to some offensive players, L Johnson RB 370, R Dayne RB 126, S Smith WR 213, A Bryant WR 99, H Miller TE 90, A Gates TE 155, P Manning QB 283, and C Frye QB 154. I am telling this because I do not want to see anyone over do the defensive side of the ball too early in this draft. If you do you will likely dig yourself into a hole that could take multiple seasons to get out of. Typically you see defensive players start going in round 4 or 5, and that is for the elite players.
Remaining Rules
Free Agents
Free agents are on a first come first serve basis, and are available year round. During the season the web site webleaguemanager.com will allowing add/drop free agents and proposing trades. This can be done at any point during the regular/playoff season. All transaction will be closed from 12 am Sunday and reopen at 6 am Monday Morning. The site we will be using will allow you to do transaction on-line over the off-season.
Trades
<strong>Trading is encouraged, the more the better. During the season all trades can be done on the website. Any combinations of players or future/current draft picks are available to be traded. If any trade is so lop-sided that it would ruin the parity of the league, the trade will be put up to a vote. If this case the votes of the 2 owners involved in the trade are not counted, and the commissioner’s vote is only used as a tiebreaker. In order to have a trade voted on the commissioner, must receive a separate email from 4 owners within 2 days of the trade. At that point if during the season the commissioner will return all players involved in the trade back to their original team, and an email based vote will take place. All owners not involved in the trade will receive an email and must respond either verbally or electronically within 3 days. By the way, this will most likely never happen.</strong>
Injuries
Players are available to be put on the IR once they have been either determined to be either Out or Doubtful for the next scheduled game. Once you have put that player on the IR you are free to pick up any player that is available to replace him, as long as the minimum roster requirements are still met. The player on IR will not count towards your 50-man roster<strong>. Once an player on the IR is deemed anything other than out or doubful that player must come off the IR the next time you log on. Any abuse of this will result in a warning for a 24 hour period. If the player dows not come off IR they will be dropped. If a player is anything other than doubtful our out at game time, and is not taken off of the IR prior to the next weeks starting, that player will be dropped during that weekends games, and the owner will have to try and pick them up through waivers. All owners will be notified of a pending commissioner drop as far in advance as possible.</strong>
Practice Squad Rule Changes
1. The practice squad will only be used for players under the age of 25 at the time of finalizing the practice squad players (10pm the night before the first game of each season).
2. Each owner will select which 5 players will be on their practice squad by the same date that is selected for the final cut down date.
3. Once the practice squad is set, players can only come off of the practice squad, and can’t go back to the practice squad without clearing waivers. Once a player is dropped to the practice squad, for any reason other than they were added as a free agent before kick off of the following week, that player will be offered to the entire league. The site will be set for a 58 man active roster to allow owners to add players through waivers before placing them on their practice squad during the course of the year. If an owner ends up with more than 55 players on their active squad when waivers are processed, they will only have 48 hours to put a player on their practice squad, or the commissioner will make the move right or wrong for them.
4. Each owner will place a value on each of the players on their practice squad, with two 2nd round tenders and three 4th round tenders. Once a player is given their value that practice squad value stays the same until the mid way point of the season (between weeks 6 and 7). At that point all owners are able to revalue their PS players as they see fit. Other than the "revaluation week" player will retain their values, and any player that replaces someone on the practice squad will retain that player's value.
Example: Sonny Bono WR for Edmonton is brought up to the active squad and that owner obviously drops another player to make room for Bono. That same owner picks up a free agent 25 years of age or younger. Bono was valued as having a 4th round tender, so the new practice squad player would also have that same value, once they were dropped to the practice squad.
5. From Sunday night at 11pm when the waiver requests open until Wednesday at 8pm, when the waivers are processed, any owner can make a claim on any player on another teams practice squad. These requests are on a first come first serve basis, however if two teams somehow manage to make a request for the same player at the same time the waiver order will determine the tie break for the request. All requests will be emailed to the commissioner, and he will advise the team that has the player being requested that they need to make a decision. This will be done with an email that has a read receipt sent back to the commissioner, and the owner will have 24 hours from the time that receipt has been received to make their decision. I have most of your guys cell numbers as well, and if I do not hear from you a phone call should be expected, after a reasonable amount of time. Under no circumstances will a player be removed from another team’s roster without that owner having the opportunity to respond to the request. Also if a player is valued at a value and you do not have a pick in that round in the upcoming draft, you will not be able to make a request on that player.
6. If a team has a request made for one of their players that owner has the opportunity to either allow the request to go through, or match the request by putting that requested player on their active roster for the remainder of the season. Obviously the owner needs to drop a player to make room for the player coming up from the practice squad.
7. If a team successfully claims a player off another teams practice squad, that team will give up their draft pick for the following year to the other team, for the value that the claimed player had. The claimed player will also have to put on the successful teams active roster for the remainder of the season.
8. The Values for each teams practice squad will be maintained on a message board post for the duration of the season, and only changed during the revaluation week. Revaluation week is week 7. During this week all teams can move players to and from the practice squad and revalue all players before kick off of the week 7 games.
9. Players on the active squad are not able to be moved to the directly to the practice squad without first clearing waivers first, however any first or second year players acquired through free agency or trade are able to be moved to the practice squad. Remember though that any players moved to PS will be valued at the same value of the player dropped to make room for the new one/ones.
Position Changes
From time to time defensive players switch position during their careers or during a season. If this happens to one of your players, that player will assume the position that is stated on NFL.com. We will only use that site in these disputes and whatever the site states, that will be the position of the player in question.
Regular Season Schedules
All owners will play each of their division rivals twice per year, and they will also play all 6 of the teams for the other division. This will be done by having three week end where all teams will play double headers to give us a full 16 game season.
Playoffs
We have a 12-team league and the playoffs will be held in weeks 14, 15, and 16. With the two division winners advancing to the playoffs with a bye week in the first round; the next four best record will be the wild cards, with the winners in week 14, meeting the top two seeds in week 15.
Toilet Bowl - All teams from 7-12 in the standing will participate in the toilet bowl weeks 14-16. The winner of the toilet bowl with be given an additional second round pick at 2.13. All other draft positions will be determined any teams regular season record, with the worst team getting 1.1,
Money
The entrance fee for this league will be 35$ per team for the first year. Each year after that all owners will pay a $40 entrance fee, with the exception of the previous years champion, who will not pay an entrance fee for the following year. The prize money will break down like this:
Year One
$420 total
$70 for website
$175 for Champion
$100 for Second Place
$25 for division winners
$25 for overall highest points scored
Year Two
$420 total
$70 for website
$185 for Champion
$110 for Second Place
$25 for division winners
$25 for overall highest points scored

Since the By-Laws were made, there have been some changes. For example, to keep all teams competitive, the 6 teams that do not make the playoffs play a Loser's Bracket. The winner of the Loser's bracket gains an additional 2nd round draft pick.
Docker, they really are. The league has been going since 2006 and I believe there had only been like 4 replacement owners. That is crazy good carryover when you consider it's been 7 seasons. As much as we all follow football, I think we could easily find 12 guys who would be dedicated and up for an individual defensive player league. The money isn't so much for gambling, but more so to make sure people are committed.
Also, it would be important to not let "trolls" in. The league needs to run smoothly to make sure no owners get too fed up with each other that they make the league suffer.
I would be willing to manage a team or co-commish a league.
