Quote:SEVEN females in that house. Poor fella.

Are you sure you want to do this, Brad?
Breaking news: Meester has just taken up placekicking, and plans to stay in the NFL for another ten years in that capacity.
Cosign everything you guys said. Enjoy it Brad.
No he doesnt belong in the pride.
Quote:Glad to see him leaving the game on his own terms, rather than languishing about in free agency. After the career he's had, he deserves the opportunity to do so, and to retire a Jaguar. As much as we forget it given his decline over the last few years, there was a while there where he was an excellent guard/center, and the lynchpin of the line.

I also am glad he is not retiring because of an injury like some other Jaguars did.

You are right about forgetting his best days. I only remember #63 being a center many fans thought was not good enough.

Quote:Is he the first significant guy to play his whole career with the Jags?

Does Reggie Williams count? I know he did not last very long, but he was a full-time starter and nobody signed him after he was cut.

Quote:Boselli could be included as well. He never played a snap in Houston.

I'm happy to hear Meester is hanging it up. He's been a rock through 5 coaches, and a pillar in this community. Now he can enjoy the house full of girls full time. He'll be desperate to get back into the league within 6 months of dealing with that!

I am including him because he spent the whole year on injured reserve, but can understand why someone else would only care about the fact the Texans drafted him.

Brad Meester will enjoy spending more time with his family and helping the community. I don't think he will miss doing everything he did as a player.
Thanks for the memories Brad...

And for staying in Jacksonville through the bad years when you could have gone to a better team.

When did we draft him?
You're a BEAST Brad!

Care to explain?

I actually think he's right up there with a few players.  Actually I would put him in over Brunell.

An interior offensive lineman has to be truly outstanding for a long time to merit inclusion in a team's hall of fame/retired numbers. Meester had a very good career, but the Pride is not the "Hall of Very Good". It's the Jags' Hall of Fame. Boselli is the only lineman thus far to merit inclusion, imo.

Brunell's in because he's the man who gave the team its first spark, and ended up leading the Jags to four consecutive playoff appearances, two AFC Championship Games and two AFC Central championships. Being the QB puts your career under an intense magnifying glass, and even though the stat line rarely showed it, Brunell had the record and the resume to get in.

As soon as Gabbert is cut we can probably add his name to that list.
Man, already??
It's too bad a guy like Meester plays his entire career on a team with little success. It's got to be a big disappointment for him.

Not true. If a team is desperate for a backup quarterback, he will find a job somewhere.

Better than Poz, who has never been to the playoffs.

I'm sure his bank statement soothes him quite sufficiently.
This announcement was Well Expected since the begining of 2013. As I see it, Mester was tutoring his replacemement in Brewster and we all know how his season ended...

Meester's success or the lack of, is contributed to mediocre coaching on All Levels...

His play speaks for himself...

Brad some times its not about how many pro bowls you went to, It's about a man who gave all he could for his team, a man who never complained, a man who left every thing on the field, a man who you hope your children will grow up to be! God bless you and if any man deserved to be in the pride of the jaguars for his play and devotion to the team and setting an example for all Jaguar fans children it's Brad Meester! I hope some day your children will see your name displayed as a member of the pride of the jaguars, not only for your commitment to the team but for the example you set for every  child of jaguar fans! In a time when some players said is not their job to set an example you  quietly went about being a man who set an example anyone would be proud of!
