Wow, what a bad week.

Quote:Hopefully we recognize and shore up some of our shortfalls when it comes to competing with other markets.

I believe the Shipyards will be key to developing an entertainment district that fans and visitors can enjoy before and after events.

Our leadership must continue improving our sports complex infrastructure and keep us competitive.

Agree.  I think they thought in hiring Verlander was that he has lots of connections...well, its not working.

Big scoreboards are a start (thanks to the Jags)....but the city has to revitalize downtown to pull in the major stuff.  People do not go there as a place to visit...its a ghost town when there's nothing going on down there.
Hopefully two big whiffs in one week are a wake up call to our local leadership.

Quote:Looks like we lost out on The Shamrock series. Notre Dame instead opting for Indianapolis, East Rutherford, Landover, San antonio and Boston over Jax.

I guess no Navy vs Notre Dame for Everbank.

Unless I am reading this wrong, the venue for the 2016 ND-Navy has not been determined. The date is set as 11-05 on their schedule but the site is not set. Jacksonville is not out of it.
