we traded for RGIII... would you guys be upset or happy?

Guest

Nope. Our franchise QB is in this years draft. Thank you very much.

I'd rather trade for Kirk Cousins

What are we trading to get him?

Why the random question?

Even if David Caldwell was stupid enough to try, the Redskins would refuse any offer. Remember how much they gave up to pick him?

Are we getting him at a discount?

I'm sure most people will probably heavily snub their nose at this idea, but if the Jags could get RG at 6 cents on the dollar trade compensation-wise, then they'd probably be fools not to take it.

This is RG's 1st season removed from ACL tear, he'll probably be much more comfortable and more improved next year.

Agreed.  If they are shopping him for a 2nd or a 1st (2015), I would probably take that.

Yep, the ol' buy low, sell high philosophy that some on this forum refuse to understand.
RGIII appears to  be more of a diva than he's worth.  From having to listen to him bloviate over the last offseason, training camp, pre-season, and into this season, he appears to much Terrell Owens for my liking in what I expect out of a QB.

There is no amount of discount worth the headache he is...  Not to mention that there is a distinct possibility that he hit his ceiling and will be nothing more than mediocre here on out.

I'd pass.

RGIII a headache? I don't see that.  Passionate, maybe, but not a headache.  He was thrown into a horrible offense and ruined because of it.  It's a shame he didn't go to someone that would have used him in a more conventional offense from the start so he could have learned that.  It would have likely kept him healthy, too.

Haha..we needed a game this Sunday if this is the best topic we can think of now. No way RG3 is even on the block

I can understand your point of view.  I just remember the whole "Operation Patience" nonsense he started up during the pre-season after he got flack for questioning the coaches for not playing him during those games.  That along with other "off-record" accounts of his actions inside the locker room make me question him as a true leader Vs. a diva pretending to be a leader.

Yeah, Shannahan ran RGIII till the wheels literally fell off last season, but let's not forget RGIII also wanted to play those games, and made that explicitly clear.  Shannahan is a sucker... And he's still being propped up as the t'horn prospective HC.  I WOULD LOVE THAT TO HAPPEN!!!

But I digress...   Back to RGIII

I could be wrong, usually I am, but he just appears more TO than Marino to me.

Heck he could come back next year and be gangbusters....  But, in my opinion he's more of a Flacco type that needs weapons around him, and a good D to have sustained success.

If my assessment is correct, I'd rather us draft our own QB as opposed to pick up another team's baggage.
A 2nd round pick for RG3? And the Raiders gave up 2 1st round picks for Carson Palmer?

Yea... Don't see that happening.

But what if its not?

And besides, I don't want just one QB anyway. I want 2. Our franchise QB, and a developmental prospect that we could flip in a few years in a trade. Then rinse, cycle, repeat. Thats what good teams do.

Its possible the Redskins could be so desperate to trade him for a 1st. Being they have none.
No thanks to a QB who can't read defenses/make pre snap reads/adjustments.

Oh you mean like at least half of the QB expected to be drafted on the first 2 days in the upcoming draft class?

Assuming for the moment I agree with your laundry philosophy,  (I don't, by the way) may I remind you that:

1)  Good teams don't have numerous holes to fill, and

2)  This is not a good team.

Before wasting a draft pick on a guy not expected to play, we need players who can contribute NOW!
