Quote:Then you missed a great game. The Cowboys showed how important Justin Durant is by not being able to stop the Bears without him. Another former Jaguar, Adam Podlesh, never punted.
yeah it was probably because justin durant wasnt playing.... or maybe it was because morris claiborne was out and sean lee got hurt? that probably had nothing to do with it. strictly without the best defensive player the nfl has ever seen.... justin durant.

Also Durant is a decent player.
Agreed.
Justin Durant has shown flashes of turning into much more than a decent player but for one or more reasons hasn't been able to sustain it.
The Jaguars didn't make a serious effort to retain Durant. Then two years later, the Lions determined Durant was expendable, making practically no effort to retain Durant after DeAndre Levy was re-signed.
Durant is an NFL caliber LB, who provides versatility, good speed, and effort. Yet, on a good 4-3 team, he's not a top 2 LB on the roster. He's either the 3rd LB or the first LB coming off the bench.
I seriously doubt the Cowboys Defense would have been competitive enough last night in Chicago, even if Durant was relatively healthy and played most of their Defensive snaps.

Quote:Branch seems to be up and down to me. I still can't figure out if he is a boom or bust pick.Branch's sacks have come off some creative blitz plays where he's running free.. I don't have any faith in him consistently getting pressure on his own without some sort of crazy play to get him going up against air.

Seeing the effectiveness of the deep DE rotation that the Seattle Seahawks have put together this season, I'm expecting the Jaguars to attempt to follow that formula as a major part of the team's overall plan moving forward.

Selvie had a sack so I figured I would bump this thread before someone started another one
