Only idiots say stuff like this.
Or people who just like being mean to disabled women.

Quote:Todd Bowles has about as much control of his team as Gus.
Even with a 10-6 season under Todd Bowles' belt in his first season as Jets HC, it wouldn't be shocking on this end if owner Woody Johnson pulls the plug on him after the 2016 regular season end. What might save Bowles is unlike some of the other big name Jets Defensive players, Leonard Williams is performing well.

Reason to fire Bowles: Converting Fitzpatrick from a boom to a bust
Reason not to fire Bowles: He almost made the playoffs in his rookie year
Which is more important? To me, the poor quarterback management.

The bitter reality for the Jets is Ryan Fitzpatrick has been way too inconsistent in his career.
The combination of highly questionable game management in the Steelers game, the Jets too often self destructing with penalties, and the lethargic performance against the Colts this evening on National TV are bright yellow caution warnings at best,

Yes he has, but after his stellar 2015 season, a coach's job is to keep it going. During Ryan Fitzpatrick's contract dispute, everyone seemingly expected Todd Bowles to be the Energizer Bunny wit him. I asked other posters why Jacksonville's great 2015 offense fell flat this year and most people blamed the coaches. It makes no sense when the same coaches are employed, but you probably know better than I do about this.
Mike Maccagnan (sp?) should get some of the blame for this. What was he expecting when his fallback plan was developing two quarterbacks behind one inconsistent veteran?

Todd Bowles isn't an Energizer Bunny type of coach. That's not his personality.
IMO, the # 1 reason for the Jacksonville Offensive struggles this season is the QB play. The coaches have their share of blame, including with Blake Bortles regression. But it's shocking watching Bortles in a number of games I've seen the Jaguars play this season. The Bills game was actually a better than expected performance by Bortles on this end but that's how far the expectation has dropped with him.
The Jets also had Geno Smith on their roster before a torn ACL ended his season against the Ravens.
A huge question with the Jets is whether either of the QBs they drafted in the last 2 drafts the long term solution? They haven't been able to find the next Joe Namath and it's plagued them the last 40 seasons.

The next Joe Namath is not on their current roster. I only see Bryce Petty and Christian Hackemberg as career backups.
I am a big believer in the old saying, "If it is not broke, don't fix it." If I was a GM I would want an Energizer Bunny on my coaching staff.
