two?

this thread should show us all how the 4 team playoff is still a crappy system

I agree.. But it's a start..
Maybe they should include the top 50 teams.. That way UF has a chance too..

And then we're gonna go to 8 but then the really big regular season games like Bama-Auburn this year all of a sudden loses its importance.
I would say that a big part of the playoff system SHOULD be that only one team from a conference can participate.
Even if Bama is better than MSU/ Stanford, screw em. This system shouldn't be a losers bracket, win your conference!

BINGO! Win your conference or shut up and go home.

should you be penalized for being in a tough conference? Alabama would be better off leaving SEC and joining CUSA. Run the tables and bingo in the playoffs every year.
Quote:Hate on the BIG 10 and tOSU all you want, but if you think the #2 team is going to fall lower than #4, you're delusional, and letting your hatred cloud your judgement.
Has the BIG 10 left a lot to be desired this year? Sure they have, but this sin't the NFL, things change from year to year... Like Auburn who was so terrible last year that they weren't even ranked. Yet this year, they're playing for a national championship.
Stop touting the "Ohio State would get killed by team x,y, and z" because you don't know that for a fact, so don't claim it as a fact. When is the last time Ohio State played any of the three teams mentioned above? Recent enough that you can "know" that they would get blown out of the water? ...please.
Check your zipper, your SEC bias is showing.
LOL
Ohio St. shouldn't even be ranked in the top 10. They would get crushed by any of the teams in the top 10.

You know what's laughable? Having Stanford in the top 5.
This is the media's hatred of tOSU showing

And then games in the playoffs gain importance and will be even bigger then the regular season games. You always will lose something and gain something with change. Change is a coming and it is long over due.

Or that OSU is not that good. They finally played someone and look what happened. They lost and it was extremely predictable.

You're getting upset over people giving their opinions about who they would rank as their 4 teams in a playoff system. Michigan State beat you head to head and won the conference. I understand that Ohio State was ranked in the top 5 all season and won every game for 20+ straight. Honestly I can see your argument. But it's just really immature to sit here whining and claim others opinions are wrong or try to dispute them. There are more stats to prove that Michigan State has earned the right to be in that spot over OSU. Just be happy someone is giving the Big 10 credit. They could leave them out completely since the conference lately has been a joke.
In my opinion Alabama DOES NOT deserve to be in the 4 team playoff. They didn't win their conference. The playoff system will not be fair until it is either an 8 team playoff where all major conferences are represented, with a couple at large teams (each from a different conference) filling in, or a 4 team playoff with the top 4 conference champions. There is no reason Alabama should be in over Baylor. There is no excuse for a team to lose their conference and make it into a 4 team playoff over a team that won their conference. None.
WINNER OF THE GAME
Ohio St and Clemson are by far the most overrated teams in the country.
Clemson plays the weakest schedule ever. They play 2 good teams (Florida St and SC) and get worked, but are in a BCS game. What a joke.
Ohio St, like someone said before, would probably lose to every team in the top 10. I know any SEC would handle them with ease. They couldn't hang for 4 quarters. I was hoping we could see Ohio St vs SC in a bowl game, but no, they get to play overrated Clemson.
The BCS only made that Clemson Ohio St game because now both teams can say they played "somebody" good....
I love the battle readiness of OSU fans that know they will always have to backup the fact that their team plays weak opponents more so than the rest of the top 5 and will always have to resort to the "well you just don't know for sure" argument. Sure we do, we just saw it lol... You'd think they would make sure that the first meaningful game in two years they would pull out all the stops, but... They didn't.
