Not to be repetitive but we need a QB before that will ever happen.
Oh, and wins against teams with winning records would help too.

Titans sucking next year is what would concern me, I want the Titans to be a .500 team next season.
Oh, and Andrew Luck is not getting "worse". lolz... He has nothing on offense other than a midget as an outside WR....
foo895 states it best. The Jags need their QB before we start talking about division titles well - at least start talking about that without sounding ridiculous, anyway.

Don't get the Cat before the horse....YET.

LOL.
That's nice thinking, but everyone else thinks that way too. Every team is trying to improve in the offseason to put themselves above the rest of the division. Other teams aren't going to just stand pat and let you pass them so easily. That being said, it would be something to see the Jaguars finish with a strong divisional record this year.

We go through this every year. "NEXT YEAR WILL BE OUR YEAR" next year.
5 pieces we need before we're ready to compete for the division:
1. Quarterback (Franchise Caliber)
2. Pass Rush
3. Center that's not from the Tom Coughlin era of football in Jacksonville
4. Better Guards.
5. An RB to be next in line to MJD
Who knows if we can get that in the offseason or not. Time will tell.

Colts are going to overly-focus on their offense next year. Luck has no one right now; an undependable O-line, no run game, and just TY Hilton as the only decent receiver. He's only getting better (not worse) too.
Although, I think we could be in contention for a wildcard spot next year.

Uche has played well recently, and we could probably live if we had to deal with Todman+Robinson (If he continues to develop)

I think I am most worried about houston. They will have the #1 pick and could pick a QB or get Clowney (Clowney and Watt wouldn't be fair) I could see a KC type turn around with the talent on that team. They get Foster back healthy, Cushing back healthy, and a fresh start HC.
Tennesee will suck and you can never count out Luck. I love where this team is going but we still got a lot of work to do.

Quick question, how tall are you?

Unfortunately the Jaguars have been trying to do #1 and #2 for a good while now. You are now saying we will fix both this year? Its not that easy but I would be stoked if it did.

If we draft Carr and the Texans dont get Teddy I would bet on us to win the division.

I'm not saying we will, but it's what we need to take the division I think. It can be done. The question is who's available.

Quote:Titans sucking next year is what would concern me, I want the Titans to be a .500 team next season.Well I think we can all agree that there's no way that we go into next season without a new QB weather it be a Rookie or Vet.. And they don't need to be amazing right off the bat for us to win, our defense is top 10 in turnovers and we're still -4 in the differential.. we need an anti Henne who can keep the ball on our side XD

Wow...a lot of people seem to be gushing over Carr...I wasn't all that impressed with him in watching that game last night. He seemed to get rattled under pressure.....and he gets so many yards off of those WR screens in that gimmicky offense he's in. Never takes a snap under Center...
Carr is going to be overdrafted if some of the NFL teams share the opinion some on this board has of him.
12-08-2013, 02:05 PM
Not a fan of the idea of drafting Carr unless we trade down for a kings ransom. The only qb I'd feel comfortable taking (if we have a top 5 pick) is Bridge water, although he hasn't officially declared yet
