The reason why the Texans went with Case Keenum is that they wanted to see what they potentially have for the future. When they started Keenum they basically gave up on this season. Similar scenario here in Jax. I honestly do not think anyone thought Gabbert was playing better than Henne, but his ceiling was thought to be higher.
