Quote:Still not sure I understand all the Geno comparison. At this time last year, Geno and his team had that major meltdown, while Louisville record is 11-1. One ran a spread offense and the other a pro-style offense; one was no longer in the conversation as a top 10 pick and was criticized (with the exception of maybe a few fans), while the other one is still very much in the running as the first overall pick.
Some people on this board really seem to hate Teddy for no particular reason.

Yeah, it's not the same at all.
However, the telling thing will come in the offseason when he gets mentally evaluated.
Geno majorly failed on all the personality and mental aspects of being a leader. It's why he had his mini meltdown during the first day of the draft and why he'll never be an elite QB.
Its hard to believe that Teddy will have those same problems.

After watching his game last night, I can understand why not everyone believes TB can be that franchise player. The knock on TB are that physically he's not an imposing player, and he sort of lack the "wow" factor in his game i.e. no 30 yard run, huddling over or trucking down defensive players. The pro Teddy think he's like Aaron Rodgers, but since he lacks the physical trait and excitement in his game, other people tend to think he's just another typical first round prospect that comes out every year.
I've been in watching a lot of his videos on draftbreakdown and compare him to guys like Mariota, Boyd, Hundley and etc...I still believe he's the best and most NFL ready prospect of this year's class. (Though, he's not the best overall QB or prospect in this year college season -- that belongs to Jameis Winston.)
I made a thread about his potential, and I said he's probably the next (or someone close to) Matt Ryan -- maybe a more mobile version of Ryan. He's not going to be a Rodgers' type elite (not everyone can be like Rodgers), but I think he can be a very good QB three years from now, probably top 10.
It will be very interesting once the bowl season is over. I would love to hear from opinion of the media pundits after the combine and his pro day. One thing I am very positive is that he won't receive a grade like Geno Smith.

No we know why they hate him.
I don't think the comparison is correct. VagrantWade and TMD maybe the co-presidents of the Teddy Bear fan club, but their fanboyism of Teddy is somewhat justified -- that Teddy is a pretty good QB prospect and has a legitimate chance of being the #1 overall. The Tebowmania, on the other hand, are just cult members.
Bridgewater is overrated. Cincinnati to OT? guys got a top 5 FBS rated D and can't get his team in the top 15. Plays cupcakes, dont blame lack of talent please. Cannot carry an NFL team or win you a game. Never seen a player not even sniff Heisman contention and get unanimously projected as a number one pick at the quarterback position.

Well, when a QB plays on a team that doesn't have too many really good offensive weapons, and also plays in a pro style offense rather than the gimmicky offenses of some of the other college teams and he doesn't put up video game numbers so people like you deem the QB overrated.
You judge the things that don't matter and ignore the things that do such as Teddy's command of the position, his instincts, his accuracy, his ability to go through progressions and routinely hit his 2nd/ or 3rd options on a play, his poise and pocket presence, ability to make all the throws and make big downfield plays, his leadership and his smarts. Most of that stuff gets overlooked in "stats".
Overrated my foot...(PG version)

I've only seen 3 of his games, but he did look good in each one so that's a plus. It'll be interesting to see how he does if invited to the Senior Bowl.

I'm not comparing Tebow to Teddy, I'm comparing his fan boys to the teboners. Both of them have reach a special level of annoying that at least for myself has turned me off to the player they are hyping.
I think jags fans are going to be rather pleased with what they get in Bridgewater, he is an athletic Brady and finds ways to get the job done although his entire team falls apart around him
in 5 year he will be a top 5 probably closer to top 3 qb

I thought in five years he'd be in the Hall of Fame.

What makes you think the Jags are still going to be able to get Bridgewater at this point? They aren't getting the #1 pick, and likely won't be picking even in the top 5.
I like Teddy but the thing I don't understand is everyone talks about "forget the flash, look at the traits" blah blah blah and yeah I get that but at the same time, you have to show you can dominate college if you want to dominate the NFL and is he really dominating? Not to mention it's not even really good college competition. I think he is playing good but is not dominating. Is that his fault or coaching or players or what? Tell me what I'm missing.

Texans are going to pick Clowney, McNair really likes Keenum
Rams like Bradford

Didn't Tebow dominant college

Look at his throwing technique, look how he runs the offense, look at the velocity on his throws
Stop looking at stats people, its lazy and inept
