Based on the Sagarin rankings of 23NOV:

Only two teams in the BCS top 25 has a lower SOS than OSU........FSU and L-ville

12 SEC teams have a higher SOS than OSU and FSU

10 Big 10/11/12 teams have a higher SOS than OSU and FSU

12 ACC teams have a higher SOS than OSU and FSU

Mighty Toledo has a higher SOS than both OSU and FSU

Just some interesting numbers to share on a Tuesday evening!!  Do they mean anything?????? Not really sure

that is why i think ohio st doesnt belong in the championship even if bama loses a game, the only way they do make it is if fsu drops a game which i dont see happening, sucks to be a buckeye lol

If Bama or FSU loses, I do think OSU deserves to get in.  They've done this 2 years in a row with Braxton Miller and their backup is just as good.   I'm not an OSU fan to any extent so it pains me to say they deserve to go if BAMA or FSU falters !!!

It does not suck to be a Buckeye. Every win gives me hope that maybe someday Ohio State will move up in the rankings. Unfortunately that happened during OSU's bye week, but being #3 makes me a happy Buckeyes fan because that means OSU win + Alabama loss = OSU moving up to #2.

If their SOS is the only reason the Buckeyes should not play for the national championship, FSU obviously should not be #2 either. The team with the second-weakest schedule has been #2 for a few weeks and was #3 before that. Using your logic, FSU should be ranked lower than OSU is, because FSU has an easier schedule.

So you probably want Alabama to win the Iron Bowl because if Auburn wins Saturday, OSU will certainly move up to #2 for beating Michigan.

Of course, the conference championship games are another matter. The Buckeyes have to root for the SEC East team in that game regardless of who wins the Iron Bowl.

the thing with fsu is they destroyed everyone on their schedule, never was in danger of losing. ohio st otoh had like 3 close games, that is why fsu has the edge.

When was the last time strength of victory was actually a component in the BCS formula? I think that factor was formally dropped at the same time Harris replaced the AP - more than 10 years ago. So that should be irrelevant.
