Quote:It is nice to see Andre Branch and Ryan Davis develop in front of our eyes. Two young developmental players at a premium position. I wonder if Babin or Mincey are brought back next year?
I noticed Davis out there and he looked solid. The coaching staff is doing a good job of finding what these guys do and then working that into sundays gameplan.
LB/DE stunts? Press coverage on the outside? MLB blitzes? I think we might have a defense people.
After the first half of the season, he was in danger of not being here next year. Different story now. Looks like the light is finally going on for him.
Andre Branch is being used the way he's supposed to be, which is as a guy who doesn't directly engage the man infront of him.
Bradley is taking "bad" players and putting them to great use.

Are you trying to tell me that Coach Bradley is, wait for it, coaching?!?
What a refreshing and novel concept after these last few guys who had his title but none of his acumen, you know, putting players in a position to succeed and all...

It's nice. Perhaps players aren't the only ones that improve after the bye.
they probably gutted the palybooks defensively during the bye and have been practicing just what they've decided is working, make them more comfortable in it and thus more productive.
Players like Andre Branch make me believe that crap players can still develop into something. Props to the coaching staff for A. Not ditching him at his weakest point B. Putting him in a position to succeed. C. Developing him D. Keeping him motivated.
DE is one of the hardest positions to play in the nfl because of all the expectations and the huge adaptation to often times bigger and much more experienced linemen at the next level. So i'm happy that he's showing advancement.
D Line is a tough job now. The offensive players are usually bigger, and getting faster and quicker.
Plus it's usually 3 or 4 rushers against 6 blockers.
So while stopping the run can be done with adjustments, getting sacks is tougher now it seems, I don't have stats in front of me but it seems down all over the league.
That said, we are getting pressure I haven't seen in years, consistent pressure.
That is almost as good as a sack.
It's good to see Branch do what we drafted him to do...
Still wouldnt mind having Clowney out there as well
..

That makes sense, it's been a huge turn around on the defensive side of the ball after the bye.
Glad he's playing well. Would love it if he stopped with that absolute ridiculous dance every time he makes a play.
Yeah on his last dance I was praying he would stop, just because it went on so long I was afraid there would be a penalty. Just keep it short.

Yeah, or none at all, He looks embarrassing doing that crap.

This is what im thinking too. Before the bye it was constant soft zones and LBs standing in space. Post bye we got lineman stunts, press coverage and safety blitzes.
All about coaching. Look at George Selvie. He came here and was gone pretty quickly and made zero impact. Now he has something like 6-7ish sacks this year for thw Cowboys. I liked the Branch pick last year..hope he only gets better. I was ready to move on. That being said, we could use a stud dt to take some pressure off him. Sign Greg Hardy and I think our D front can be pretty good.
The silly dance and related antics remind me of Reggie Williams and make me cringe. Reggie would dance and gloat after a 4 yd reception.
yeah i'm suprised that hasn't been on one of those no your place on nfl channel or three jeers on espn.

Not nearly as bad as Branch doing this after being in the proximity of a quarterback as he trips over his offensive lineman's feet as if he got a sack. (Rams game)
Simma' down meow! He was getting after an undrafted QB that likes to roll back in the pocket, instead of climb up into and thru the pocket. And that was what? Keenum's third or fourth start? I'm not trying to knock Branch. But it's not like he was out there trying to sack Manning, Brees, or Brady who don't dance around like ballerina's in the pocket.
