The head football coach of Marion County High School (Tennessee) has resigned under pressure after it was revealed that two of his assistant coaches vandalized their own school, making it appear that the damage was done by supporters of a rival school, against which they had a district championship game soon after the incident occurred. Two of his assistants were relieved of their coaching positions, and a third was fired for stealing the rival team's play books.
The rival school, South Pittsburgh High School, is a local football power, and Marion County High School, where this man coached, are located in the county which adjoins the one in which I live. There is a long history between these schools, but nothing that compares to this.
