I can't believe Im about to say this but I really hope the texans beat the [BAD WORD REMOVED] out of the jags this sunday. For the #1 pick? Yea. I agree with all of you saying "You aren't a real fan if you want them to lose" blah blah blah. This is different.

 

Caldwell needs to have his pick of the litter so we know whether to keep him. No excuses for him. Get the best QB in this upcoming draft and I will be on the "In caldwell we trust" bandwagon.

 

Anyways, The texans are a 2 win team. If we win, Theres a massive tie for the #1 spot. If we lose, The texans are a 3 win team and its possible the bucs/Falcons can win putting us up by 2 games which would be HUGE in getting the first pick. Also, The texans will be picking a QB. Bet on it. We cant let them get ahead of us.

 

The falcons won't pick a QB. The bucs,Vikings, and Texans will if granted a top 2 spot. Best part is, All 3 teams are in major "fight" mode to keep their jobs. Somehow Schiano rallied his troops.

I still can't believe Houston's fall from grace.  Weren't they supposed to compete for a Super Bowl this year?

You just showed us why wanting the Jaguars to lose makes you a Jaguars hater: the admission that Houston is not the only 2-8 team that needs a quarterback.

Then that's pretty opposite of your point.  The Vikings and Buccaneers also need a quarterback.  Therefore if they get the pick, the best one will likely be gone before our pick.  

We play the Texans TWICE. They already have one more win than us. They will have to lose to us TWICE to stay ahead of us assuming neither of us win against other teams.

 

They are a much better team on offense and defense.

 

Also, do you think Colts fans regret losing to us when they got Luck?

I was saying because they also need a quarterback, it is stupid to think our games against the Texans will decide who picks Teddy Bridgewater, which is what the OP thinks.

And that is another reason not to believe Sunday is the Toilet Bowl: Both teams have more games to play that they can either win or lose.

But the OP said that it will go a long way in determining it.  Not that it'll be the only factor.  

 

Any matchup between 2 teams with < 3 wins is going to influence the #1 pick more than most matchups.  The only other matchup that will be between two teams with under 3 wins will be if the Jaguars win on Sunday.

1) Missing out on Luck and getting stuck with RG3 would have been a DISASTER for the colts.

 

2) The Colts got Luck because WE BEAT THEM at the end of the season. We gave them Luck.

Not necessarily. RG3 had a great rookie season and is still recovering from torn knee ligaments suffered in a playoff game.
