Quote:We'll see if Alabama can handle the powerhouse that is Chattanooga this Saturday.
I think the two best teams are Florida State and Ohio State. Alabama plays nobody and still wins close.
Hopefully Bama falls to Auburn, and we get to see FSU vs. TOSU
Quote:FSU has only played 2 top ten teams, and do you really think they expected Clemson to be top 10 when the schedule was made?
Clemson was #10 in the country pre-season, first of all.
Second of all, FSU demolished both top ten teams they faced, as well as face-raping 'at the time' #25 maryland.
If you have an issue with any of that, take up with the voters.

I didn't dispute that Clemson was top ten?
But did FSU expect them to be when the schedule was made? Does the ACC make their schedules in the pre season, or year(s) in advance?
I don't get what you're jiving at.

I'm not jiving at anything. There are no expectations in terms of scheduling in the ACC. FSU and clemson are division rivals so they will play every year.
Quote:It's not set as Ohio St just got out of home and homes with Georgia and Tennessee. I think those were set for 16/17 and 18/19.
And Bama backed out of games against Mich. State in 16/17
Nobody is hating on them for not wanting to play a BIG 10 team?
I think Alabama will get crushed by FSU but theyre a clearly better than the rest of the pack.
Quote:Wow I learn something new.
So Bama's wins vs TAMU and Ole Miss are meaningless since those 2 teams were ranked and came earlier in the season.
We can throw out Auburn's win(s) vs "LSU" and Ole Miss since they were ranked early in the season as well?
Yeah, the BCS is terribly flawed, but that the rankings don't come out until late October tends to help weed out the pretenders from the contenders and usually 6-7 weeks in you get most of the cupcakes out of the way to get to the meat of the schedule. The AP means nothing and hasn't in almost two decades, yet the media still uses their rankings until the BCS comes out and then they're completely forgotten about unless they make a "controversial" move and name someone else besides the BCS champion as their champ.

EDIT; Nevermind, the Wisconsin game was declined because Alvarez wanted home and home while Saban wanted neutral site.
Quote:So if Auburn beats them, they'll only drop to #2? Oh, that's right. Only in the SEC can you get rewarded for losing a game.
And the Pacific 12. Try to explain #4 Stanford being ranked higher than undefeated Baylor last week.
Ohio State was rewarded for not playing a game. The Buckeyes moved up to #3 during their bye week.

A few years ago, Alabama had a home and home series with Penn State. So being in the Big Ten had nothing to do with that decision.

That wasn't the point.
It was stated that schedules in the Big 10/11/12 were set through 2019. I pointed out that wasn't necessarily true.

You can look up 2018 BIG 10 schedule right now. More set than the SEC.

Having to travel to the BIG 10 did though.

That's not what my comment was about. Not at all.
I was commenting to someone stating that the schedules were set through 2019, and pointing out that wasn't the case.
Quote:Having to travel to the BIG 10 did though.
Huh? Bama traveled to state college.
Quote:Having to travel to the BIG 10 did though.
Schools get more money for neutral site games. Saban probably agreed to do home/home with Penn State because of the respect he had for Paterno.
Quote:I would love to see things played out, but they won't. And how does Ohio State not pass the eye test, yet Bama does? Ohio State is winning with style.
Defensively, they have given up a lot of points to some not very good teams. Also, no one they have played is currently ranked. When you compare the 4 undefeated teams, that is a huge factor. They'll have Michigan State in championship game and that is a legitimate team. We will see how they do. How can any of us tell how good Ohio State yet when they haven't faced good enough competition? Bama, FSU and Baylor have.
Quote:FSU and Baylor.
Correct, Baylor would jump OSU as it looks if both win out.

You see what "Style" got Oregon? A punch in the mouth by a physical team.
