Another reason the college game is getting better than the NFL

Seriously, I think they call these kinds of things if the QB's just fall funny.  That was a legal hit.  Didn't hit him in the head, and used his arm.  He didn't punch out with his hand.  Brees just happened to catch it near the top of his jersey and as he started to fall the guys arm went to his neck.  Funny looking fall = penalty.

So you are willing to overlook the mostly horrible quality of play in college football because Brees got a call in his favor?

college game has gotten softer too, they're even ejecting players for targeting

this could happen in a college game too, to the refs defense, at full speed it did look almost like a clothesline hit on Brees

The same thing happens in the college game with star players. Calls go their way. It has always happened, and it always will.

Each level of skill must be evaluated independently.  That's why I'm able to look forward to a good high school football playoff game between Fletcher and Oak Ridge (who just beat Fleming Island).

by the way, what are the other reasons?
I thought it was the right call. Brees looked like his head nearly got snapped off.

People tend to like College more when their favorite pro team sucks. I am sure Broncos fans absolutely love the NFL.

So other than that call, what makes college "better than the NFL"?

That was a crap call, but the NCAA is making just as bad calls with the rules they have in place too. Both are changing the game right in front of our eyes.
There is no reason to believe college football is better than the NFL. Overtime rules are stupid. The targeting rule is stupid. The play review system is stupid. The fact an awful team with only six wins can play in a bowl game is stupid. The BCS system is stupid. I also think it is stupid that teams don't play half of their games on the road and half at home or the fact that schools can choose their own schedules, which is why a lot of games in September are blowouts. Allowing teams to have two bye weeks also is stupid. So is the fact that the NCAA does not require all conferences to have the same number of teams divided geographically with championships and names that do not make sense anymore after realignment occurs. The only way college football is better than the NFL is the ball must be in the end zone to call touchbacks, not just the player's foot.
