No sir. Schedules are also based on finishes the prior year. Unless Nostradamus is working for these sites, you'll have to be patient.

D6 answered the question.  Thanks D6!  However, you keep responding but evidently have no idea what we were talking about.  You're focusing on future schedules.  The original question was why did we play Arizona at home this year and Seattle on the road this year when we did the exact same thing 4 years ago.  We were supposed to alternate home and away and we didn't.  D6 explained it.   /end thread

D6 answered my question about going to Oakland two straight years, which is similar to the question about going to Seattle this year. The reason given makes absolutely no sense, however.

  Regardless of the degree it makes sense,  what I mentioned is basically the NFL thought process.

 

  For what it's worth,   it doesn't make sense on this end that the NFL is concerned about the amount of West Coast appearances in a given season for a non-West Coast team.   At the same time,  the NFL scheduled 3 games in London,  England in 2014.    This after scheduling 2 games in London in 2013.

In 2010,  the new 8 year schedule cycle began.     The AFC South is scheduled to play the NFC West in 2013 and 2017.

 

In 2009,   the Jaguars played on the road in Seattle and San Francisco.

 

The NFL didn't want that to happen again in 2017.    As a result,   the Jaguars went to Seattle in 2013.     Hence,  in 2017,  the trip to San Francisco will be the only Jaguars West Coast trip regarding NFC West opponents.

When the NFL first released the schedules for this season back in April I was confused about the games vs. Seattle and Arizona as well.

I was just thinking about the fact that no matter where we play on the West Coast, we always get blown out, and dreaded going back to Seattle.

 I had a similar reaction back in 2011 when at first I couldn't figure out why the Lions were playing at home against Kansas City again and going to Oakland again.   After doing research on the Internet,   I found out a few days later what the reason behind the schedule change was.

  The Jaguars are far from the only team that has had major problems on the West Coast.

 

  On the other hand,  many teams from the West Coast and nearby ( Arizona ) have had more than their share of difficulties over the years playing early Sunday games in the Eastern Time Zone.

Someone wrote on NFL.com a few years ago for the Cardinals and all four West Coast teams kickoff time makes a big difference when they play in the Eastern Time Zone. The earlier their game, the most likely they are to lose. So the fact that the Chargers and Cardinals won at Jacksonville is just further proof we suck.

Kickoff time does indeed make a difference in these type of games because for players on the West Coast,  their bodies feel like it's 10am when the game begins.

 

To the Chargers credit,   they also won in Philadelphia in the early Sunday time slot after playing at home against the Texans the previous Monday Night.   That was a game that didn't begin until around 10:30pm ET/  7:30pm PT because ESPN had a MNF doubleheader that evening.

And the Chargers still have a losing record. In Week 2, the Eagles were so bad everyone thought the NFC East was the worst division.

 The NFL season is a marathon,  not a sprint.  

 

 The NFC East might still be the worst division in the league but its at least debatable now.

Now I see no reason to think it is worse than the AFCS. But we already have threads about that.
