All I kept saying during the Cardinals game was, "when did Henne turn into Gabbert 2.0?" How does Henne go from sucky to really, really sucky? I understand the team is really, really sucky, but this was just God awful.
And then there's the play calling - especially in the 4th quarter down by two touchdowns. When you've run for a total of 3 inches, is a run play fake really going to do anything but get under my skin?
IF the Jaguars select a new QB in the first round, Fisch has to go.
I say ditch Henne, Gabbert, and Fisch.
Tomorrow, perhaps?
.
Fisch called those designed screens and quick throws

Designed to fail.
It's a talent issue at QB to start with first and foremost.

But Henne wasn't a complete stink bomb in Miami, yes?
I was just thinking........ If DC was to cut Henne, Gabbert and fire Fisch tomorrow morning, how would the majority of fans feel? Wouldnt it show that mediocrity wont be tolerated? Would it light a fire under the rest of the team?.......... I cant wait for the draft

This. If we had a good QB I bet we see less of those plays

You're probably right. But I just don't get the run play fakes. Henne isn't even good at those. It's so superficial and not convincing.
I think Fisch has no confidence in either Henne or Gabbert, and game plans accordingly. I've seen nothing that makes me fault him for that.

You're right. But do you have any confidence in Fisch?
Henne definitely makes things worse. He's been in the NFL for like 6 years and still stares down receivers which leads to INTs...which is why he'll probably never throw for more TDs than INTs in a season.
I still think it's both. Bad QB and poor OC. I think Fisch goes at the end of the year, and Henne is gone too. Maybe Gabbert as well.
To be fair to Gus... his choice of OC was hindered by his QB. Who'd want to come here and have their job tied to Henne or Gabbert? Most good choices would see better opportunities. With a new QB better options should be available to us
Either we get a new OC, or we force Fisch to throw away the old Playbook that has for some reason been there since the Del Rio Days.

Complete? No.
He was brought in to back up Garrard. Then Gabbert drafted, he was going to back him up til they found out hes not very good.

Sure. But down two scores in the 4th, don't you at least wing it and fail instead staying conservative all the way through the 4th? Or, does the offense suck soooo bad that it's the only way to stop getting killed on the field?

Curse you Gene Smith!
.
Apparently Fisch doesn't trust the offense to execute the bigger plays, so he just calls conservative quick-out's. I honestly feel bad for MJD, he has no holes to run through for the whole game and just ends up getting stuffed. Maurice always gained his speed once he found a gap in the line, and that's probably a factor to his running game this season.

I have to see him with a real QB first

Garrard was cut the year before Henne was signed.
