It's down to the nitty gritty, and if I win out I make the playoffs. Unfortunately, I've had a rash of injuries that are starting to take their toll, among them Julio Jones, Owen Daniels, Doug Martin, and Blackmon's suspension. Help me pick the RBs and the WRs to start this week!
RBs:
McCoy (obvious starter)
MJD
Ivory
WRs (I need 3 including flex):
Fitzgerald
Riley Cooper
Pierre Garcon
Jordy Nelson
CS3
Harvin
Stills
Torrey Smith
I'm feeling McCoy and Ivory this week...and right now I have Fitz, Garcon, and Cooper penciled in since Nelson pretty much sucks without Rodgers.
I agree with your choices. I too had doug martin and justin blackmon. Doh! I also got jordy nelson and percy harvin but I won't be starting either this week
I had Blackmon too, was so mad about the suspension, until Riley Cooper blew up. Somehow I was last in waivers and still got him, I guess I got him before anyone else wanted him.
Start McCoy (Got him too)
Start Ivory (MJD has been a disappointment)
Start Riley Cooper, Garcon, and Smith. Fitz hasn't been much help this year.
Okay, real fast! Colts or Panthers DST this week? Colts have Titans but Panthers face Brady...
Btw, thanks for the help guys. Really appreciate it!
Wow that's a lot of WRs.
The Bills and Cards both have a tough run D so you can take that out of the equation. With that in mind, Ivory is doing better than MJD.
At WR, Garcon and Cooper are must starts this week, and you definitely want to sit CS3 versus Peterson. As for the rest...
Harvin is intriguing since he's finally expected to play. Teams often ease in guys in his situation, but the Vikings are so bad I see the Seahawks having all sorts of success. Then again, that could lead to running the ball late in the game just to wear out the clock, but he's an intriguing play this week. You may opt to just watch him, but you very well might be watching him put up some stats.
Stills has game as a deep threat WR who can score, but he'll rarely see that many opportunities. With several bigger name WRs I'm sitting him unless he has a great matchup, and the 49ers are not what I call a great matchup.
Fitz, on the other hand, is playing the Jaguars which can always lead to points. Along with Harvin, he has to be considered.
Finally, is Jordy Nelson really someone you want to sit because of their QB situation. Well, word on the street is that Tolzien may be better than you'd think, and Nelson is one of the best in the game facing a rather weak Giants defense. I'm really not so sure that you want to avoid him.
Torrey Smith gets his fair share of catches but isn't much of a threat to score, so you're probably not getting double digits with him... maybe 9 points. He's kind of in the same boat as Stills who might come down with a 9-point TD play but most likely does nothing else. Even though he's playing a rather weak Bears D, I'd look for a bigger hitter to flex with all those options.
So Harvin, Fitz or Nelson. All three have great matchups so that's a wash. I'd say Harvin is too hit or miss for this game, so just watch him. That leaves Fitz vs the Jaguars or Nelson vs the Giants. I'm tempted to say Nelson over Fitz just because the Jaguars have done a good job vs some bigger name WRs, but in saying this I'm banking on the theory that Tolzien surprises people. I don't think you could really go wrong either way.
With all those names, btw, you're probably safe to waive Stills or Torrey. Maybe looks at their respective schedules going forward.
