Odds he has a "career day" or finishes with better numbers than Blake?

100%. Dopey Gus can't confuse a rookie QB with his scheme. This will be the most basic defense Lynch has seen since Pop Warner.
On a losing streak?

Lost your starting QB?

Need to kick start your season?

Have no fear the Gus Bradley led Jaguars are here to cater for all these needs!

Just turn up and watch us go to work!
Paxton gonna compete

I think Blake's outplayed 80% of the QBs he's faced this year based on sheer numbers including Andrew Luck and Mariota. Not a chance. You people are clueless. How can he play better than this?

Clue for the blind: It helps when your team runs for 200 yards!

Statistics mean nothing if you don't watch the games.

What are you trying to say? No chance Blake can play better than he did in the Titans game?

97.5 QB rating and 337 yards passing and your team still loses by 14 points and gives up 214 yards rushing......

No clown try to follow the conversation.....Bortles OUT PLAYED BOTH MARIOTA AND LUCK this year just based on sheer numbers HEAD TO HEAD like the beginning of the thread stated......

Granted most of it was in garbage time, the defense couldn't hold them under 36 points and 214 yards rushing?!

Bwahahah So Blake can't get a scoring drive together untilt the 3rd quarter but he outplayed Mariota? Are you on drugs?

Blake had a 97.5 rating but Mariota had a 148.1.

On what planet did Blake play better than him? You really are the worst.

It's official! Siemens is out with his right foot injury, so Paxton Lynch from Memphis Tigers will start.
The answer to the subject title question is yes.

That is bad news for the Broncos, who were hoping Trevor Siemian could play with an injured foot.

rookie qb against our D. We gonna win.

Needs more ***s
If they don't just turn the dogs loose on this dude they can kiss my [BLEEP]. They should blitz ,blitz and then blitz some more. If he lights them up so be it. Otherwise Denver needs to be going to their emergency QB by the end of the first half.

Spacecoast is seriously saying that Borltes outplayed Mariota on the Thursday night game???

That is literally how you know you are out of your mind.

Mariota was 18 of 22 for 207 Yards and two TD's in that game. He was so efficient that he led his team to a 27 point lead by half time and then when the Jags got momentum, he drove down the field to shift the game back to the Titans to make secure a one-sided victory. Efficiency is Quality.

Spacetoats replies: "oh but the Jags have Gus Bradley"... NO, Stop there! Mike Mularkey is pretty awful if you forgot. They Have a top 5 Offensive line and running game which makes for a very efficient offense and MAriota runs it perfectly.

Mariota is lightyears ahead of Bortles. He is the prototype for the modern QB, He's efficient, he can carve your defense in the pass and you have to be aware of his ability to run.. He can wear you down for 4 quarters and it's not perfect, he can't throw deep but he is lightyears ahead of Bortles and the perfect example of the importance of an efficient passer..

The accuracy issues are not even mechanical, it's physiological, he can't throw a football with enough velocity in the rotator cuff and quick twitch muscles in his wrist. He has an uncoordinated shoulder and wrist levers in his body. This is the reason has no short game, he can't play small ball --  Bortles doesn't follow through or finish his passes. Watch Carson Wentz, Carson Wentz is a similar QB in size, but he fires lasers to his receivers and masters the efficient nuances of the game, he's going to be a star and he has a rebuilding team as well.

Bortles throws 50 times a game and scores 3 TD's because he puts his team in a hole early and the 4th quarter is filled with the deep throws and this is where you need to understand your great stats you get on Borltes. Those yards become meaningless because

The QB is a big reason why a team wins or loses. Mariota, Wentz, those two have rebuilding teams around them with mediocre and unknown coaches respectively, you can see the progress happening because of the QB play. Bortles doesn't possess those traits and you can't be this blind.

Our offense against their defense. Good luck getting in the end zone.

Of course he'll have a career day. It's his first game so it will be his best regardless of how well he does.
