<p class="">MT <a class="" href='http://twitter.com/JayGlazer/'>@JayGlazer</a>: Spoke w/John Fox. He's having a procedure on aortic valve Tues in North Carolina. Will remain there 2 wks, miss month-6 wks.

Well if anyone can derail Denver's success, its JDR.....

<grabs popcorn>....

OMG this is crazy! ESPN reported during the UM/FSU game via sports ticker John Fox did not have a heart attack. The Sporting News initially reported he is OK, but will be kept overnight for testing. I never would have guessed those tests showed he needed heart surgery.

Thank God Denver is on a bye week. The timing allows JDR to be the head coach all week instead of just during the game, which should make everything easier for the offensive players.

watch jdr come in and enjoy the success and then get another head coach job.

He is believed to be a serious candidate at USC.

He should take that job fast before they come to their senses.

Not so fast. John Fox has not announced yet who will be the interim head coach. JDR just happens to be a former NFL head coach and therefore the most logical option.

Of course, he can succeed as the IHC in Denver and suck somewhere else because the Broncos are loaded with talent on offense.

I hope you will come to your senses and realize JDR does not want to talk about leaving Denver regardless of what he thinks about the USC job.

C'mon Houston!  Do it!
USC head coach is an alumnus ' dream job. He would leave in a second if they offered it.

Hopefully,   John Fox will make a full recovery and have many decades of good health.        Fox needs to focus on his recovery.      The Broncos should be in good hands until Fox returns.

It's pretty bad when you look back to the JDR years and envy them.

Finally someone else realizes it is all about John Fox, not his defensive coordinator.

Unfortunately, almost nobody lives "many decades" after age 58, and the few who do most likely never had heart problems. But I hope Fox lives as long as anybody can with an artificial aortic valve in his heart.

Recovery is going to be very hard for him. I remember when Atlanta coach Dan Reeves had a proecedure to prevent a heart attack because three arteries were blocked, he was ordered to stay away from football. It is going to suck if Fox is told the same thing.

With modern medicine and medical procedures,   the chances of people living much longer with heart problems certainly has increased.      Of course,  each person's situation is different.

Regarding Dan Reeves,   the good news is he did eventually return in the 1998 season after having heart surgery.    Being that Reeves is still alive today,   almost 15 years later,   is even better news.

The bottom line is every additional day each of us has is a blessing.
I Wish a speedy recovery for John Fox, although he could take the year off and the Broncos wouldn't miss a beat as long as Peyton's under center.

But you know how JDR always wanted to run the ball too much. I am wondering if Peyton will be allowed to keep throwing as much as he usually does.

What favors the Broncos continuing to stay on their current path on Offense with John Fox being unavailable to coach for a while is that the team has an elite QB and amongst the best passing game weapons at the skill positions in the NFL.

JDR never had this much overall talent at the skill positions when he was the Jaguars HC.      The Jaguars foundation during most of the time JDR was the HC was the Defensive Tackles,   Defense in general  (  though the team didn't have an elite pass rushing DE most of that time ),   and RB position.    With a good run blocking Offensive Line.

As much as I want the Broncos to win every week and finish 15-1 on their way to the Super Bowl, I am hoping it does not result in a job offer from USC because JDR is the first DC in a long time to stay in Denver more than one year. Champ Bailey's foot and Von Miller's suspension hurt the pass defense, so when both are on the field all four quarters, that can be fixed. Denver was #1 against the run in Week 6 and I have not heard anything different since then.

The last time I watched a Broncos game, Mom saw JDR on TV and asked me if he was their coach. After saying defensive coordinator, I told her he used to be Jacksonville's head coach. She said she recognized him from Jacksonville's sideline.

If JDR tanks the rest of the Broncos season, the Jacksonville connection will be the first thing on everyone's lips.  This will stigmatize us even more.  (sigh)

Had the Jaguars had Peyton Manning in his prime while JDR was the head coach, the Jaguars would have been scary good imo (Better than the Colts were). JDR doesn't get the credit he deserves from the Jaguars fanbase. Then again, that same fanbase ran Coughlin out of town.

It was probably good timing for both to leave, anyway, and get a fresh start somewhere else, not unlike Andy Reid, or John Fox ... Another coach I think will come blazing back is Lovie Smith. ... I always thought Smith got the most out of the Players he had. He understood the limitation, and strength of his players, and team. Rex Grossman, starting Superbowl Quarterback. I seen it with my own eyes. Wink

I hope Fox can take himself away from the game, and trust the coaches that work under him to do what he hired them to do. He needs to focus on his health, and getting better. I know these guys are workaholics, and that type of stress isn't conducive to the best way to recover from ... of all things, heart related illness, or damage.

Get Well, John Fox. ... which is better than RIP.
