Interesting article. Is he worth a shot in the later rounds? I wouldn't  mind especially being a position we will need and could potentially get good value here.

Crowell always had great talent he was just too slight of frame to really carry a load. He went and got himself jacked this offseason though and is super impressive. He is a top 5 RB prospect to me...maybe #3 after Gordon and Seastrunk honestly. Him and Grice is real close. Either way he is a 2nd round talent but we'll see where the off field worries drop him. I'd love to use an early day 3 pick if he's there.

Fred Taylor is a horrible comparison for this guy.

Sorry, but Crowell is 5'11" . 190 per the article, Taylor was 6'1", 230. and ran a 4.35. a legit 4.35.

No way Crowell has Fred Taylors underrated power.

Taylor was the ultimate mix of size and speed and agility at rb, you could go a whole decade without seeing another one like him

With the closest comparison in the past fifteen years being Adrian Peterson, I would say it will be twenty or more years before we get to see that combination in a single player at that position.

Lets see what Jeremy Hill runs next year.
They are not even alike.

His coach is former Jag Reggie Barlow. In the article, he also compared him to Michael Pittman. So, yeah he was not exactly saying "Crowell = Fred Taylor".

No he didn't. He said he played with Fred Taylor, Charlie Garner and Michael Pittman. "Crowell puts me in the mindset of a Fred Taylor".
Only player I've seen that looks like Fred Taylor is Adrian Peterson. Of course, Peterson is better, but the two are very similar.

Darren McFadden for that stretch in 2010 when  he was actually healthy kinda reminded me of Fred.

yeah, he is a good comparison the way he runs

That's actually a pretty good comparison. But it brings to light how Fred really kind of reinvented himself midway through his career, at least in my mind he did. It seemed to me that as his career lengthened, Fred didn't solely rely on his speed, he also added the dimension of dropping his shoulder and plowing through tackles a lot more than simply running past a guy.

Man, was he good.

Funny, I have been saying this to people in the sports bar ever since Peterson's first season, and they usually look at me like I have 5 heads for saying it.

I am so much smarter and more perceptive than the average person, its ridiculous.

Peterson is absolutely the absolute closest thing to Fred Taylor in the last 15 years of RB.

....and to all those people that think Peterson is better, not so sure about that one, either. They are very close.
