Quote:Buffalo's GM is a moron too.

If I was the Jags, I'd have explored a Cecil Shorts for a Jairus Byrd deal. Buffalo claimed that they wanted a young player in exchange for Byrd and Shorts could have helped them.

Byrd is young enough that he could have been a staple in our defense for 6+ years. He'd have been the Earl Thomas for Bradley's D and actually would have been a perfect fit.
That would be stupid to give up Shorts when if we want Byrd we can just sign him at the end of the year.  He is a free agent.  Im glad you are not the GM with ideas like that.

Yes because Jax has done so well in getting the high profile FA's to sign here right?

Keep thinking that the above has a snowballs chance in hell of happening. The Jags best opportunity would have been to trade for Byrd with the handshake agreement of extending his contract immediately. Now, the Jags will have to wade through competition for his services, and its unlikely they will win in that for Byrd.

Ah, I see.

The Bills are morons too, despite winning games with a QB that went to Duke.  And Denver's GM must be an idiot, because he could've got Jared Allen cheap.  And New England are dumb/Cleveland is dumb for not executing a Gordon trade.

Do you still think, after this weekend's performance, that ANY team in the league would want to give the Jags ANYTHING for ANYBODY?

The one trade in the league was by a team that may have won 15 spots in the draft, and, depending on how far the Pats go in the playoffs and how far the Eagles fall to the bottom of the NFL, as few as 2 spots.

I forgot?  Who won today's trade?

I have an idea. Let's think of some unrealistic scenario. Pretend it should have happened and then get mad when it doesn't.
Not surprising that there were no shocker deals. Draft picks are gold.

Quote:Yep, we sat on our roster.

Caldwell's entire trading before the deadline consisted of getting fleeced by the Ravens for a 4th & 5th rounder for Monroe. Wonderful.

Why the hell did we bother changing GM's again?... for asthetics?...

Sat on our roster? Or maybe other teams didn't think a useless DE who causes 3 penalties a game and a close to 30 year old under 4 YPC power back wasn't worth a draft pick. Which they weren't.

Stick to your agenda though.
This next draft is very deep talent wise. Esspecially at the all important QB position. Its obvious the entire league is in "stockpile picks" mode outside of the teams with franchise QBs.

I do not suggest that trading off players for picks is a bad idea.

But I want you to put yourself in the shoes of a GM for another team.

Who, on the Jaguars roster, would YOU give up draft picks for?
