Ok to keep myself from being cyber executed on this forum, let me say: I do like Teddy Bridgewater. Ok with that said, is anybody else down for the idea of drafting Clowney this year and maybe trading back up and getting Manziel and seeing if he pans out which i believe he will. If he doesn't, we will be picking high and can get a shot at Winston, Mariota (if he stays), or Hundley (if he stays). It seems like its worth talking about and that's all it is is talk. We make no decisions just wishes and dreams.
At this point, it looks like Manziel is a 1st round pick, but nobody seems to have a clue where in the 1st round he'd go. We'd be at 33. And usually there isn't a team in the bottom half of the 1st round needing a QB, but this year there's so many teams with QB struggles it's hard to believe at least one wouldn't pull the trigger on Manziel. Also trading up doesn't come free. They'd have to give up something significant to get back into the 1st round and they may have to go up fairly high to get him. Don't really see it happening. It's more likely they trade down, pick someone like Manziel in the 1st (or get a guy in a later round), and get an extra 1st for next year's draft (and more).

Probably the worst idea ever and would likely cost Caldwell and Bradley their jobs. The fact that you want this team to be picking top 2 for a third straight year means there is no way you are a Jaguars. fan.
But to answer your question, yes we have multiple unintelligent fans here who think wasting a pick on Clowney is a good idea.
I don't think Clowney would be a "wasted" pick. I do think that Teddy is by far the better prospect and more valuable prospect.

Your avatar makes a lot of sense for you.
like I said, I like Bridgewater. I just also like Manziel and Clowney and I think it would be worth a shot. Either way I'm happy. But I'm sorry to get your panties in a wad with my thoughts. What do they mean anyway right?

If the bucs or vikings get the first pick (they both need a QB) and the Jags land the second pick your plan could be an option. I personally would take Barr over Clowney. (That's just me)
I also like mettenberger as an option but I wouldn't mind johnny football either if he is available in the second (early). He's like a mobile Drew Brees. I like Mettenberger alot and i think he is flying under the radar. To be honest I think the Jags can land Mettenberger in the third. So with the second pick I would take Johnson (guard miss state) or Stork (center FSU).
Clowney would not be a wasted pick. But, if we don't do something drastic in this draft and bring some excitement to this team, this fan base and city will revolt. We need to draft our Quarterback. For more than football personnel reasons, too. This fanbase needs something.

i AGREE 100% HERE. For this reason I hope we land the #1 pick. If not BAP.

This.
Winston in 2015 shouldn't cross anyone's mind. If this team finishes with the worst record in the league 3 years in a row, it would be absolute disaster for this franchise.
this is my preference, and it seems theres a good chance of us not getting the 1st pick so it might come to fruition, i just fear that if we get the 2nd pick we might settle for the 2nd best qb, which i wouldnt touch with the 2nd pick tbh.
I rather have an elite QB over a elite passrusher and a QB whose game mostly will not translate to the next level. Teddy > Clowney + Manziel. There I said it. It's like would you rather have a XBOX ONE/PS4 or a Xbox with 100 games. Give me the XB1/PS4 sorry
Take Teddy in the 1st and then another QB in the 2nd.
QB is all that matters

Ive been saying this for weeks. Prepared to be flamed by the Bridgewater trolls on here. Clowney and Manziel would be the best thing to ever happen to this franchise. Two dynamic game changing players on both sides of the ball.

Have you not paid attention to the NFL season??????
Read Option is dead, gone, its done.
Manziel cannot take the beating that he took in college, he gets a good hit on him once, he is done for season.
Get that option nonsense out of your head and think like logical human being please.

Your right. Redskins, 49ers, and Seahawks have had no success in the NFL last two years. Its horrible! Lets just draft another Gabbert that is where the league is going!

Ok, Wilson is not an option qb, he played in a pro style offense in college.
Lets start with RG3 since he is doing the worse.
He has looked terrible throwing the ball, inaccurate, bad ball placement, stares down his receivers, panics in the pocket.
Kaepernick is the same deal although Harbaugh (who is a great qb coach btw like really really good) has calmed him down a lot and is progressing with him.
Last I checked, Jags don't have a qb guru at the offensive position

Russel Wilson runs an offense that utilizes a lot of read option and short passing in Seattle. An offense that our head coach, Gus Bradley will most likely want to implement here in Jacksonville. Manziel is a perfect fit for that offense.
Your judging RGIII on half a season coming off a huge injury instead of all last season when he won the NFC east.
Colin Kaepernick is playing very well yet again, a season after leading his team to the super bowl. To say he is an example of the read option not working in the NFL makes you look clueless.

What Russell Wilson runs is a pro style offense with read option sprinkled in, not the other way around. So no
RG3's knee as back to the level where he can plant and throw...He can't make the reads
Kaep: They have dialed down the read option most of the season, He hasn't looked that great regardless, forget the Jags, look at the rest of the teams

The seahawks do not strech the field vertically that often. Its much more read option and realizes on Wilson escaping the pocket than you give it credit for.
Again RGIII is playing tentative after major Knee surgery and anyone who follows the game knows it. Look at the tape from last year. He lit up defenses.
Kaepernick is playing on a team that has a huge lead the majority of the time. They reel him in because there is no need to use him. His only bad games this year, one against the best defense if not team in the NFL, Seattle. The other against Indy when the 49ers faced a major distraction. Again Kapernick is proof that the read option can and does work in the NFL.

I've had this argument with you in the other thread, It seems like you still can't wrap your head around simple concepts. Let me break it down for you, in a bolder, simpler, manner.
IT HAS BEEN PROVEN MOBILE QUARTERBACKS DO NOT LAST IN THE NFL AND ARE NOT GOOD FITS FOR A FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK.
That better?
