Quote:Oregon has a bye Saturday. They play Stanford next Thursday night.

Thanks to whatever genius scheduled that on a Thursday night.

Actually I like the fact that it is on Thursday night.  Crazy things happen on Thursdays.
I think for the first time in my entire life, I'm going to be rooting for florida against Geogia this weekend...

Turn in your Seminole card immediately.
Quoted wrong post! Go Gators!

I root for (to myself anyhow) for FSU to win every game except the one on Rivalry week. It only helps your team in the long run.

Things may change now that the playoff format is coming, but during the BCS area it only made sense to do so.

Lol, I know! I say that now, but it'll probably change as the game goes on.

I know it makes sense, it just has never been in me to do so.

Oh I get it completely. Two sides to it.

Well FSU's only hope of getting to the title with two other unbeatens is if UF and Miami win out.

Not our only hope.  Part of the BCS is strength of schedule, but it also factors in the human vote.  Right now the nation has voted for Oregon at #2, but will that change is FSU continues to steam roll its opponents and Oregon has a couple of really close games (but wins)?  I don't know.  Crazier things have happened.

But yes, if florida went undefeated from here on out (not likely), then they would probably be ranked around 15.  That would mean FSU beat #3, #7, #15 (hypothetical), #25 and whatever rank the ACC championship team is.  I think they could then pass Oregon.  But who knows.  The BCS makes absolutely no sense as it is so we are trying to guess something that is unpredictable.
I don't think you have to worry at all. Unless FSU somehow got upset, the Alabama vs FSU for the NC is almost guaranteed at this point. No way the NCAA will pass up this matchup.

Does the NCAA have control over the BCS formula?  I mean, you are talking about some crazy conspiracy.
Have they not been using the their "computer system" with magical formula for ranking teams that no one has ever figure out how the ranking works?

I'm sure their computer system will conveniently have Bama-FSU as ranked 1-2 at the end of the season.
If Oregon handles Stanford like they did UCLA (which they should), then they probably will be on top the remainder of the season. FSU's toughest game left is UF after Miami (FSU will jump Oregon this week for Oregon having a bye, then Oregon will jump back after Stanford), it leaves Alabama, then Oregon, then FSU.

FSU has to be handpicked to play in the title games, which it definitely wouldn't be the first time Oregon was jumped.

Hence, the "secret" computer ranking formula that no one has ever figured out.

Actually im rooting for Clemson, UM, VT and UF to win all their games except against us because it helps our SOS.

I think your provincialism is showing,

What makes you think more people would rather see FSU than Oregon?

ALA v Oregon has great appeal - contrasting styles and all that.

It is a worthy debate.  I'm biased so my take won't mean much.  I still think FSU would draw more people to watch the game because of history and how long it has been since we have been on top.  Also Jameis Winstons story is almost too good to be true.  It is a dream match up to cover.  But like I said, others will think differently.
