Teddy and Geno played in very different offenses which asked them to do very different things. They also dont have the same strengths or weaknesses. This scout is just like every other idiot who only makes intraracial comparisons. Geno has a better deep ball but Teddy is way better at going through short and intermediate reads. Way better accuracy and pocket movement too.

Mariota....great athlete....not a great QB. Sorry.

Quote:Use your brain please, if you have seen Geno and teddys games over the years you know good and well they are worlds apart.
Actually, all that says is that Louisville's and West Virginia's offenses are worlds apart, it says nothing about the QBs themselves.

Their traits actually aren't that far apart at all, both are pocket passing black QBs...who can beat you with their legs if needed but would rather not. They are both below average athletes for black QB standards. They are the same height, and when Geno was 20 like Teddy is now everyone claimed he was way too skinny too, and I suspect their body types will be quite similar once Teddy is finished filling out. Both of them have nice but not perfect mechanics throwing the ball, and the weaknesses for both are footwork (although Teddy's are not as pronounced). Both of them excel in the intermediate passing game and both of their throwing weaknesses were considered to be their deep ball accuracy.

Teddy is a lot more advanced mentally, but other than that they aren't too far apart...which isn't a bad thing because Geno with Teddy's brains would be looking very good right now.

Considering that he's only a rookie, Geno is decently good so far. He still has the same inconsistency problems he has had since college.

Teddy is far from perfect, but he's also far ahead of Geno as a prospect.

There's no way you can look at both of their body of work in college and think they are similar.
I'd prefer they draft Teddy, but if they pick Mariota, I'd be excited. From what I've seen Teddy is a very, very solid QB - like, top-15 in the league floor. Mariota's floor, I would guesstimate, is more of the 20ish range. The main reason for this disparity is how effective Teddy is between the ears. Now, if Mariota had Teddy's mind, anticipation, and touch, in addition to what he already has (rocket arm and rocket legs, and size), that would be fantastic.

So I guess what I'm saying is that I'd be happy for either, feeling safer with Teddy and a little more excited with MM.

Quote:Oh my word. Someone, please drag the village idiot out of here.
Why would you want to be dragged out now? Your ignorance is so comedic.
lol.

That is all.

yeah 9 pages from a troll post...why? cause the mods allow it
Quote:Winston is already better then all the QBs in this draft.
His line is incredible. He literally has all day to throw. I do not think he is better than Teddy, at least now.
What did I just read lol

How can anybody who watches football say Mariota is better than TB with a straight face? I don't get it.

Its really debatable, especially now that almost every media pundits hype up Winston as the next best young QB. The last time that they hype up a young QB like they are doing with Winston right now -- Luck.

Because of his experience, I still think Teddy is the more NFL ready, but consider his Skill set and upside, I agree with the pundits in that Winston would be the #1 pick if he comes out right now, even as a redshirt freshman.

Well the only intelligent people saying it are doing it to drum up early RG3-like hype for page/video hits and retweets. IE. Todd and Mel.

I am deathly scared we end up with Mariota and he busts ala Gabbert setting this franchise back another 5 years.

You pretty much nailed it IMO.  I like Mariota's athletics a ton but its time to get a signal caller at the NFL level. Someone who can manipulate a defense and get them off their gameplan, put receivers in the correct position to make plays, check out of bad plays and avoid turnovers that hurt the offense.

That is Bridgewater in a nutshell. He is a amazing QB with some athletics whereas i see Mariota as an amazing athlete with some QB skills. Id take the pure QB any day and then some and not feel bad looking back.
Listen everyone. We all know Teddy is the best QB for this upcoming draft, but there are always going to be people like ThunderCat who are asinine. I bet when the Colts were losing that almost all the fans wanted Luck, but they had a 'ThunderCat' or 2 that wanted RG3 and they argued all the way up to draft time.

I bet those colt fans are ripping on those guys now haha.

With that said....

TEDDY BRIDGEWATER PLEASE
I see alot of people saying he throws to wide open receivers.

Has anyone taken the time to make the connection between him having an amazing understanding of defenses and that he constantly audibles and adjusts plays more than any other college QB and his receivers consistently finding space against zones?

GIven that He runs a pro style offense and  has full control that should be a positive unlike spread QBs who get their receivers open by pure numbers and quick 1 read plays. Id like to find a QB that consistently schemes and adjusts plays until receivers are wide open play after play. I thought thats what the Mannings, Brees and Bradys did but i guess not.

Nevermind that he is absolutely deadly vs man coverage becuase of uncanny ball placement.

So true. His accuracy is phenomenal. I'm all for losing every game for this guy no joke
Quote:Which is another reason why I wouldn't mind drafting JD and Manzeil or another qb. That way we can get our backup some playing time before Winston begins his Hall of Fame career for the Jags.

Troll or moron. Meh.

Funny Tod, and Mel scout for a living. How much do you get paid for your scouting?

Do you realize Todd McShay said Jamarcus Russell was the next Elway???? Mel Kiper is consistently off on his picks. I take what both of them say as a grain of salt.
