Smith hosed us from 09-2012.  Here are the picks that I think were worthy of their selection.  Thoughts?

Shorts- 2011

Blackmon- 2012

Yep lol, thanks Gene!

Yeah that is about right.

They are the only two who will be on the roster in 2 years.

I guess maybe Anger will be.  But he is far from special.  Just a guy.

Monroe

Knighton

Thomas

Jennings

Lane

Harris

Cox was worth a 3rd round pick, but not the 2nd that Gene used to get that pick.

Just because Caldwell did not choose to keep the above players doesn't mean they weren't worth anyhing.

Cox too injuryprone and getting too much money for too little performance. Monroe not a fit. Thomas gave up. Jennings had his chance and blew it. Lane??? Really we haven't had any pushrush in years. Blackmon still making mental lapses and it remains to be seen how he will handle double coverage. Shorts is serviceable. Knighton and Harris would've been worth keeping, but Gene got rid of Harris. Anger is legend and will likely go down as Gene's best pick. He will set records.
None of those players mentioned above are worth where they were drafted at, regardless of whether they're on the current roster or not.

Blackmon.

Shorts.

Long Ding.

Ya your right because we let these guys go and they are just studs now!  These guys are garbage.

He was claimed by Kansas City, but appears he was cut.  Not on the depth chart.

5th round and later players are not drafted to be studs they're drafted to play a role.

Monroe yes

Knighton Lol no not in Jax maybe he is better in Denver

Thomas got paid and quit

Jennings for a 7th rounder yea

Lane didnt do anything even for a 5th

Harris meh ok for a what 5th round pick
I would say Knighton, Cox, Thomas, Jennings were all serviceable at least at some point in their career here.  I dont agree with trading UP to grab Cox, especially when our roster was bad to begin with.

The ONLY guy to really overachieve has been Cecil Shorts.

That's why Gene Smith is unemployed right now.

I just wish that Derrick Harvey would have practiced his awesome ninja skills on the field and Jerry Porter would have been more that 91% healthy. If that was the case imagine what could have been!
Hard to decide if Matt Millen or Gene Smith will go down as worst GM in NFL history.
