Trade down. Imagine if Bridgewater is gone, another team will be thirsty and give up the farm for Mariotta. We tank one more year for Jameis and have multiple (likely high) first rounders for years to come.

Mariota would be a very nice "consolation prize". He very well may end up being the best QB in the class a few years from now when its all said and done. Both Bridgewater and Mariota are averaging over 10 YPA. You know the "the most important stat to judge a QB" according to some message board GMs.....
Until they find a way to spin it because it doesn't fit the agenda.

They already have spun it. Apparently he will be complete garbage unless his coach is Chip Kelly. It's ok, they will disappear when he shows people wrong.

I become a bucs fan and watch Mariota bust harder than Gabbert with the Jaguars.

High YPA only means something when your QB isn't getting it from throwing screens and wide open short passes all day, like Mariota does; i.e. high YAC.

I'd rather do this than waste the 2nd pick in the draft on Mariota.

If you want a great stat about Mariota, he's 78th in the NCAA in 3rd down conversions, needless to say Bridgewater is near the very top.
His pocket awareness is not where you want it to be for a top 5 pick, and his decision making under pressure is below par.

Bridgewater is #1.

Some of your posts resemble those of Oklahomie trying to defend Gabbert during the offseason. You pounce on anything that isn't pro-Teddy and bash folks that happen to like any other QB. Now, you are ready to part ways with our beloved Jags? Say it a'int so, VW. C'mon man. You're better than this.

Bridgewater may be the best QB in this years draft but he isnt the Best QB in college football right now. That is probably Winston. And if he wins out will probably get the Heisman.

so what you're saying is that mariota would make for a good running back?
also, you mean "breathe." And if someone picks ahead of the jags and takes teddy, ill be bummed. But if the jags have a shot at teddy and pass him up...it may be the last straw for me and I may jump ship too.

Bridgewater is still the best QB in college football. That 3rd down stat is unreal. I like jameis and respect what he has been doing but his team is head and shoulders above Louisville, loaded. And you can't undervalue the seasons of experience and consistency.

Quote:Belichick is a defensive minded coach, so I have no idea why you think he's so great at developing QBs.
And if Harbaugh is so good, why is Kaepernick so inconsistent?
You act like there's less than a handfull of coaches in the world that are capable of developing a QB.
I can't tell you how stupid that post is.
About Belichick: He turned Tom Brady, a sixth-round pick nobody expected to excel in the NFL, into a first ballot Hall of Famer.
About Harbaugh: He made Alex Smith a good quarterback after years of critics saying Smith is a bust, then coached at two NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl.
Do you ever pay attention to the Patriots and 49ers?
Also, if your only complaint about Belichick is he is a defensive-minded coach, you must not like Gus Bradley either.

Not even going to read your post for the simple fact that it is clear from the first three words that you didn't realize I was joking.

Not at all. That is a sporting event played by two sides.
Drafting a player is completely up to Caldwell.
