NFL Draft History By Team: Every Player Ranked

NFL Draft History

That pretty much tells the tale through the decade and why the Jags and losing are related with each other

Has a team recently (ever?) had the #2 pick (while being tied for the worst record, no less) and then followed up with the #1 pick?

There are still many games to be played, and I'm not assuming the Jags will have the #1 pick (although it's looking pretty good at the moment), but I'm wondering if we're approaching historical levels?
Gotta love 2008!

NFL Draft History
Looks like BAP to me, Go Gene SMyth! Bottom 5 all time! Woo Hoo!
Interesting. Nice find.

I've said it before.  Over a ten year span (2003-13), I would challenge that no team in the history of the NFL has a worse track record of player acquisition than the Jaguars.  Harris and Smith were the worst

I want to let everybody know in advance, this is not a 2nd account for me.  I don't have any warnings, and don't plan on getting any.  Its odd that somebody picked a very similar user name.

Just putting that out there.

I love the topic though.  Any rankings for that matter.

I might be reading the post wrong but my top 20 all time draft picks based on productivity and value would be:

1.  Tony Boselli

2.  Fred Taylor

3.  Kevin Hardy

4.  Tony Brackens

5.  Rashean Mathis

6.  Aaron Beasley

7.  Donovin Darius

8.  Tavian Banks

9.  Marcus Stroud

10 .  John Henderson

11.  Maurice Jones-Drew

12.  Brad Meester

13.  Daryl Smith

14.  Josh Scobee

15.  David Garrard

16.  Gerald Sensabaugh

17.  Cecil Shorts

18.  Justin Blackmon

19.  Rob Meir

20.  Luke Joekel

After 1999 we started missing on first round picks.

A side note we only have 6 pro bowlers that were drafted in the first round.

Pretty sure the Rams did something like that recently.

Cleveland.

The Jags drafts were really bad in 2008, 2010, 2011. The 2009 draft was pretty good, but Caldwell has eliminated them from the roster. 2012 was Blackmon and punt Smile. From 2003-2007 they missed on 1sts, but made up for it with strong 2nd round picks.

Free agents and trade acquisitions are harder to figure, but I don't think Cleveland has done well in this area either.

I'd put recent players like Joeckel and Blackmon on hold. Who knows how they'll turn out. Leftwich was looking pretty good in his first two years.

Whoa whoa whoa.... Scobee should be a lot higher up the list.... and really... Luke joke-OL....they guy cant block anybody from what we saw in the first few games..... Tavian Banks... who...????

3.  Kevin Hardy

Hardy was a terrible value. A linebacker picked second overall that was just average as a pass rusher. Stroud and Henderson both picked later in the draft, both made multiple Pro Bowls and both were here longer as well. Not to mention Hardy was picked just ahead of Simeon Rice and Jonathan Ogden.

Quote:Pretty sure the Rams did something like that recently.
Now that you mention it (thanks) I do remember the Rams being horrible for a stretch, so you may be correct.

The Bengals have a long history of ineptitude, but it may be just mediocrity rather than truly being terrible.

If I weren't so lazy I'd look it up. I may anyway.
Tavian Banks number 8, really. You have him higher than STroud and Henderson in productiivity? SMDH
