Quote:QB always has been and always will be the most important position in all of sports. Sooooo.... No. Lets get that QB first.

No, no, no......we need to upgrade our Kicker first, among other positions.

Once we get all other 51 positions upgraded then, MAYBE, we can start talking about getting a QB in here....
Yeah no.

There is FA and we have extra picks all over. They can and will attempt to fix both this offseason.

Im thinking a FA LG, a Center from the draft and a RG from the draft with a low level FA as competition. GIven the sudden good play of Austin.P at RT he will likely be given the chance to start next year and we will sign a couple camp bodies / really low level FAs there just to compete.

Quote:Yeah, he also had 2 great running backs and a good defense during his tenure as the starting QB so lets not act like he had nothing to his disposal.
Good defense? 2010 defense might have been the worst defense I've ever watched.
Heard a stat whilst watching the Chiefs Texans game on Sunday night that the Chiefs starting O-line are all 1st, 2nd or 3rd round picks. Although we desperately need a better QB, I think the above proves that a top o-line can make a serviceable QB seem better than he is. Remember the stat about Gabbert being a top QB when given 2.9 seconds in the pocket?

Point is valid, but gabbert is beyond repair. Even if he had the chiefs line, broncos line, best line in the NFL he would still stink it up.

If you still can't see it then I really don't know what to tell you.

2.9 seconds. 3 seconds, 4 seconds, he still over throws balls, doesn't go through his progressions, and stares down his receiver. Can he even read a defense? Why are we even talking about him?!?!

My point was a good o-line can make poor/serviceable QBs more productive.

I agree Gabbert is done, and choosing between him and Henne to start is like choosing whether you'd rather have toothpicks inserted under your fingernails or a tooth pulled out with a pair of pliers.

I hope we get a QB in the first round and then bulk up the line in the next 2 rounds. I'd rather improve the O-line in the draft and focus on the d-line later and next year
Of course the line is an issue, buts its not more important than a QB. Both can easily be fixed this offseason

Joekel - FA Guard - 3rd round Center - Uche - Paztor

Draft Teddy. Fixed.

Quote:The worst case scenario is that the Jaguars draft a new QB and he gets hurt playing behind this horrible offensive line.  A rookie QB's best friend is a running game and we can't even do that decently.
Yeah the Colts can run it well either which explains why they're terrible too.
Packers, Steelers, Patriots, and Indy all had pretty crappy lines in the recent past.

Houston has 2 pro bowlers on their Oline.
