Quote:Yes times a thousand. He was hot garbage against their first real opponent and the combine will not be kind to someone of his size.

If I had to take someone at this point right now, I guess I would say Aaron Murray has a decent shot of falling in the draft and becoming a decent QB.

McCarron and David Fales.

That's the beauty of it.  The Russell Wilson will be the Russell Wilson because you won't know who it is.  That being said, I guarantee one way of not finding Russell Wilson will be to draft a punter in the 3rd round.

Actually, there was a lot of talk before last year's draft about where Wilson would land.  He had a fantastic career at both Wisconsin and NC State, including a close Rose Bowl loss to a juggernaught Oregon team.  The big question was his size, which has not turned out to be an issue.  Everyone knew about him, and most thought he was overdrafted at the time.

Not now.

Which is why I think it will be McCarron.  His career is there for everyone to see, and his abilities are overshadowed by his excellent team.  He completes a lot of short passes, yes.  But he does complete them, and seems awfully comfortable in the pocket.

If Manziel falls out of the first round, he's a candidate as well.  The talking heads are big on David Fales at San Jose State, who had an awesome Junior 2012 season and a rather pedestrian 2013 senior season.

This I agree on. McCarron is a talented guy and gets overlooked because of the team he plays on.

He gets overlooked because he isnt any good.

Just like Russell Wilson.
Quote:Bridgewater hasn't weighed 196 since the start of his sophomore season.

?

His official weight on the Louisville website has him listed at 196.

That is literally his weight from Freshman year. He is up to 218 now.

I would believe this except for the fact that the official teams website (which usually inflates their own players heights and weights) have him listed at 196.

Bruh, that's his Freshman year weight. I promise. You can listen to multiple interviews since then where he has stated his weight gain. Do you think that those sites just made up the 218 number?
Here's a strange thought. What if Wilson's dropping reflected some kind of blind spot in the Sscouting process? (It did.) In that case, how are we going to be able to gauge a prospect who might do it again?(We won't.)

And of course we're assuming that there HAS to be a Russell Wilson type pick in every draft. This last one shows that is clearly not the case.

Because that was his weight when he was officially weighed for the team.

You can keep crybabying over his weight all you want, but you are wrong. Alot.

you misspelled "still are"

I looked at it and his weight has been updated every year since he was at Louisvlle. Started out 205, then 218, now 196.

Maybe someone that helps update the site messed up, it's been different every year.

Then someone messed up. Bridgewater was LITERALLY discussing before this season how he put on a bunch of weight in the offseason.

A lot of WeightGate crazies are going to look silly come combine time.
I'm going to go ahead and say Mettenberger.

it seems he has regressed a bit from last year but im picking david fales to have the most success from all the qb picked after the 2nd round in the upcoming draft. but i wouldnt be surprised if he gets picked in the 2nd.

A pro style qb who has a great arm, fundamentally sound and accurate who happens to be short.
