Quote:Yes. Keep it up for three weeks. I got Michigan St on Nov 2nd. Go Sparty.
Ok. It's a deal. You do realize Michigan has two weeks to prepare for that game, right?
You also realize that Jake Ryan (Michigan's best defensive player) will be making his first start of the season, right?

Yes. No, and it doesn't matter.

Lol ok. So the voters are always right unless it involves a team you don't think is good, right?
Quote:I don't think you understand the definition of a football team then.
Last year's team was as good as record indicated. Muschamp played to his strength, and avoided big time injuries. The offense was far from a power house, that's not in question here. You don't win 11 games as an average football Team.
I think their style of play caught up to them. It wasn't sustainable is my point. Yes, they won and yes you have a much better argument that last years team was good based on wins. But we are talking about this year and even without the injuries, this team is average. The offense caught up with them. Defense great, but as a football team they are average. Won't consistently win year in and year out with 100+ ranked offense.

An average to even above average team doesn't win 11 games. You don't stumble of 4-5 wins. Florida's defense went into the week with 13 healthy guys. Lost a safety first series. The injuries are what is not sustainable.

Are you stuck in a different thread? I am talking about Michigan State beating your Spartans. Stay with me here.

If that makes you feel good about the direction of your team under Muschamp then by all means.

Not sure how you can infer that based on the argument, but ok.

You have a good team, why would you not be happy with the direction it is going in?

You don't get it.
When all the defense, and for that matter this years offense is healthy, this team is/was pretty good. Particularly the defense. It has nothing to do with what I feel about the direction of the team. Not sure why you even brought that into the argument. I never suggested that, or inferred in anyway. Completely made up on your part.

I do get it. The general consensus even amongst gator fans (and Jeff Prosser who is the biggest gator apologist on radio waves) thinks the team overachieved and that they weren't as good as their record indicated. You can't expect to keep winning no matter how good your defense is if your offense is ranked in the 100's.
So you are happy or aren't happy with the direction of your team? I just assumed that since you have a good team, you would be happy with the way things are going.
Wasn't your offense healthy for the most part when you played Miami? I'm asking because I don't know.

You now how many moron football fans there are? A lot. The defense was very good last year. They made the team as a whole pretty good. There really is no argument about that.
Talking about the direction of the team, again, is a moot point. That was never a topic of argument. You keep bringing it up, but I've never inferred anything regarding that situation.
Yes, the offense was at Miami, and they bumbled and stumbled inside the 20, 5 times.

That team definitely overachieved last year. No doubt about it. They definitely caught some breaks too.

I agree. One of their best breaks was getting to play in a big time bowl against freaking Louisville. Well, we saw how that turned out.

Glad to see my Red Raiders are getting some recognition...now we get to run the gauntlet of OU, OSU, UT, and Baylor! If we can get through that, we might be top 5! Go Tech! Get your guns up!

A bigger break would have been Northern Illinois....

Good luck against those Baylor fellahs. Art Briles has those guys dialed in right now.

It's not like we held a gun to the Orange Bowl Committee's head and told them to pick NIU.

Yeah, they are going to be a tough out for anybody in the Big 8/12/10 this year. I know Briles is in his mid-50's but I would think Texas has to give him a call if Mack Brown gets the axe.
