I'm confused. Are you comparing how a rookie Geno Smith is doing in New York against Devin Gardner his senior year at Michigan? Why not compare their final years in college?
Geno could still easily turn out to be a good QB in the NFL. Many great QBs had much worse rookie seasons.

I've never said Gardner was as good as Geno.
If I was the GM, I would have ended up wasting a 4th round pick on a scrub NFL QB. If you were the GM, you would have wasted the #2 overall pick on a scrub NFL QB.
