He's 24, and could easily put 15 sacks per season. After more than a decade of struggling to find a guy to consistently rush the passer, I think it's worth a second to get a proven guy to lead Bradley's defense.
I know he has some legal troubles, but I think a coach like Bradley could take him in a and help him grow.
Just good for thought

One thing that needs to be considered is the Jaguars will very likely will have a very high 2nd Round pick. Granted, Aldon Smith has differential talent off the edge. However, I don't think the Jaguars are even close to the point in their rebuilding process that they can take a chance in giving up a draft pick that will probably be in the top 37 of the 2014 Draft, for a player with so many off the field issues.
Smith is facing Federal gun charges which carry minimum mandatories of 5 years, if convicted. Expect a Plaxico Burress type of deal here.
Aldons success is due to Justin Smith on the inside. Without Justin, he'd struggle to rack up 10 sacks. Guaranteed.

Bold statement for a guy that almost broke the single season sack record in his 2nd season.
If he's even a quarter of that effective for the Jaguars then he'd already be the best DE in Jaguars history.
He'll be 30 before he's eligible to play in the NFL again.

Are we going to get Justin Smith too? IIRC Aldon Smith didn't have a sack last year after Justin Smith was out. Including their Super Bowl run.

No
Most effective DE in Jags history is pretty laughable, we had several good DE's in the early years. We just haven't seen an even average one in years. Anyone wanna bring Brackens back out of retirement?!

Like I said, you don't get to 20 sacks without being really, really good, regardless of who's next to you.
And even then, the Jaguars have a decent history with selecting inside linemen on defense.

Purposeful exaggeration.

Name them and I'll tell you whether they're good in relation to the standard of the NFL.
"Good" on this board tends to be skewed because of how young this franchise is and how many people exclusively watch Jaguars football.

Have to consider the city and state he is in. I don't think you can say what Aldon Smith will get based on what Burress got. New York has some of the strictest gun policies in America.
