Quote:Florida lost to a better football team, why should he be on the hot seat? I think he should get a pass for this year, next year things better turn around. Unless UF fall apart the rest of the year he shouldnt be on the hot seat. LSU, Mizzu and Miami are just flat out better then FL and has shown it in other games.
Isn't it his job to make Florida be the better team?
I couldn't care any less one way or another, but that's how I thought the job worked.

That is his job, but you cant be looking to fire a coach midway thru his 3rd year, a college coach should have 5 years to have his full recruiting class plus 1 year, unless the team is just flat out terrible no need to be ready to fire guys so early. Like I said if they fall apart then yea hot seat, but with all the injuries and losing to teams who are flat out better then you no not yet.

That's a fair point, and I am not a UF fan by any means so I'm not very familiar with how well prepared his team is to play. If they are simply walking onto the field with less talent, that's one thing but if they have comparable talent and they are not putting it to their best use, that's on the coach.
If anyone gets fired, it should be Pease IMO. Then again, it's hard to really run your offense when your QBs suck.
i would do anything for Winston to play for the Gators. That dude is the best QB I have ever seen.
Quote:Lets not forget the offensive play calling. Screens, runs up the middle and 3 yard passes. I really don't know how you gator fans watch that every week. It is brutal.
As a Gator....I completely agree!!
No way Florida should be this bad. Muschamp got to 11-2 last year because he had a good collection of Meyer recruits (Gilleslee, Reed, Floyd, Elam, Evans) in their final year. He looks to not only be a mediocre head coach but also a mediocre recruiter. Where are the playmakers, the stars for the Gators? FSU has them in spades.
Quote:It is not all short plays. There are times when we look pretty good.
I overslept today and decided not to watch a game that was 3/4 over.
There weren't any times Saturday that florida looked pretty good on offense.

I hope Muschamp gets a lifelong contract to coach at Florida.

Trust me. I am perfectly fine with them wallowing in mediocrity.
Dont they have a freshman on the roster thats supposed to be pretty good?
Quote:Dont they have a freshman on the roster thats supposed to be pretty good?
No. He will be a freshman next year. His name is Will Grier.
He's a terrible coach. He looks completely lost all the time. Several people state in gatorbait forums that he leads in fear, which it definitely shows in his reactions all the time. I'm almost to the point where I think Jeff Driskel doesn't suck, but that he's been used completely wrong since he got here. He was the #1 dual threat QB, and hasn't done jack... but now we have Will Grier coming in, and I'm worried about him being wasted too. Also Kelvin Taylor... I shouldn't even really have to explain this one. Kid was recruited as a 5 star RB that broke records playing in HS and looking potentially better than our favorite legend Freddy T. It takes him til over halfway through the season to even get multiple snaps in the game, then when he carries the team downfield all on his own to finally show life for the game, they go away from him and give the rock to Mack Brown nonstop. After seeing Mack Brown / Matt Jones do averages of 1.5 YPC to 2.5 YPC all game, they continue sticking with them. This isn't the NFL where you tank to get the #1 draft pick, [BAD WORD REMOVED]?
Definitely get rid of Pease. I would like to see Muschamp go, but I don't see it happening. Even though he has clearly lost the team.
Edit: On a good note, Dante Fowler looks like a friggin beast. It will be nice seeing him play for at least another year at UF.

Nice, you were saying this as I was typing out my post. The problem I'm worried about is Driskel was suppose to be god coming in, as is Grier... I'm worried it will be the same song and dance with this terrible coaching.
I think Muchamp's record is very similar to Zook's record right before he got fired.... :whistling:

I really don't remember much from Zook's era, but did he lose the team completely like Muschamp has?
Having not read any of the post, here's my $0.02....
I think Muschamp can save his job by getting rid of Pease. The offense has got to open it up. This is two years in a row where one of if not the best defenses in the country have been wasted.

Has Muschamp lost the team? We already know he's lost a great deal of the team by injuries already.....

Seems like he has, several players have been upset so far. I don't think the injuries alone would have helped, the offense is horrendous. Using Mack Brown / Matt Jones over and over for no reason doesn't help. Keep Kelvin on the field and put Adam Lane in too.
I wouldn't say Muschamp is on the hot seat, yet. He is feeling some pressure for sure. Pease will be gone at the end of the season, I would imagine. If we lose to USC, Uga, and FSU, he will have the hottest seat in football next season.
