A question came to mind recently that I don't know/ remember the answer to.
Has there been a season ( s ) that the Jaguars had a coaching staff that coached one of the Senior Bowl squads? If yes, do you recall the year ( s ) this occurred?

One correction. Based on the date of the article, this was the 2009 Draft. While the Jaguars new regime went in a different direction, I do believe that the 2009 Draft was Gene Smith's best as a G.M.
IMO, a significant key to potential future success for the Jaguars is for Gus Bradley and his staff to have the opportunity to coach a Senior Bowl squad.

It gets back to having a new GM and new coaching staff.
Using the 1st Round as an example from Gene Smith's first 3 drafts: Even though Tyson Alualu and Blaine Gabbert are still with the Jaguars, I'm of the opinion that Eugene Monroe gave the Jaguars much more production than they have received from Alualu and Gabbert. Plus, the new regime converted Monroe into 2 future picks.

It could have been three or four picks. It still doesn't equate to 1st round value. :thumbs down:

It's not 1st Round value based on what the new Jaguars regime is trying to accomplish. But at least the Jaguars have something to show for the selection of Eugene Monroe moving forward. In addition, a strong case can be made that Monroe provided the Jaguars 1st Round value during large parts of his overall time with the team. If the overall Offensive unit played collectively as well as Monroe did individually the last few years, the W-L record would have been noticeably better.

This is yet another reason why it's very likely in the Jaguars best interest that Gus Bradley remains the team's Head Coach in 2014, even if the Jaguars go 0-16 this season.

As much benefit as it would have provided the Jaguars if the team's 2012 season coaching staff would have coached in the most recent Senior Bowl, there's no question that the Jaguars had to make a coaching change. Once the decision was made to hire a new G.M., it wasn't realistic or practical for the new G.M. to keep a Head Coach that was an uninspiring 2-14 in his first season.
Yeah JDR coached it for the 2009 draft, and if memory serves, Gene Smith ended up selecting multiple guys from that team.
