Quote:You expected a QB making a transition to RB with ball security issues to perform in his first 5 games? Give it some time before you go declaring him useless.
Assuming we continue next season with the zone blocking scheme I think D.Rob can be a good rb for the Jags. But the team has to move him there full time and let him start his development ther. Also I would like to see him fill out a little more physically. He's listed at 6' 197 he could easily get in the 205-210 range in the coming seasons and be a great one cut back in the scheme. It would be nice to see him get more carries this season to see what we have.

This is not the Wisconsin running back we want.

The Black Mumba won't be around in the 3rd, or lower.
As said before....
if you're trying to find RB's with 3rd & 4th round picks, wouldn't it just be smarter to just send a 4th to Philly in exchange for Bryce Brown?? He proved at this (NFL) level last season that he='s got breakaway speed, and can produce at a high level.

He still hasn't shown any of that this season though. His longest carry is 9 yards this season.

which is why you'd be getting him at the bargain price of a 4th rounder.
He hasn't been given the opportunity to start, like he was last year. Until given the starting opportunity last year he wasn't showing much before then, either.
Amazing that some of you are unable to discern whats important and what isn't. :ermm:
We need speed all around. Caldwell found some last year and we need to keep adding to it. RB, WR, TE, defense, it's all needed.

But if he had breakaway speed, and could produce at a high level, don't you think that once in 33 carries he would have at least gotten 10 yards on at one of them? McCoy is doing just fine behind the same O-Line he has a carry over 15 yards in each game.
What's important is how he plays against NFL defenses at the moment and so far he's not producing, even last season he had a carry over 10 yards in his first 9 carries but this season he hasn't even flashed that ability. Trading for Brown would be no different than drafting a guy because you really have no idea what you're going to get out of the guy.

Yes, because he'll be staying at Wisconsin!
when was the last time a traded rb had success in his new team? im not really sure, ivory is the only one i can come up with recently, and trent richardson has been a disappointment due to his price.

Take it from a Badger fan, if you're looking for breakaway speed James White isn't your guy. James white is just a guy with average the below average measurable’s, Melvin Gordon (who is a Jamaal Charles clone) is the guy I want out of the Badgers backfield.

Ivory has been a spectacular bust so far this year too...

Darren Sproles.
ETA: actually, I think I stand corrected. Sproles was a FA signing. My bad.
I like Carey from Arizona and Thomas from Oregon. I am afraid, with Thomas, that he may be too small and is too much like the small play-maker type we have (like Ace and Mike Brown).

I tried to multiquote...That was suppose to be in response to the poster you were responding to about D'Anthony Thomas.

I'm not sold on a former QB playing RB, he hasn't did anything with the opportunities he's had in games. We should just draft a true RB in 14......We need speed in the backfield, someone with good hands also.

I was going to say -- not familiar with that nickname for MGIII, but wasn't gonna fight it.
