Peter King had a piece in his MMQB about the 2014 QB class.

"The other day at The MMQB, our college football guru, Andy Staples, did his weekly list of the top 50 draft prospects. He had nine quarterbacks rated among his top 32 picks. When I asked Staples to do this list weekly during the college season, I told him to put underclass players in if he thinks they’ll be declaring for the draft. Thus Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, a junior, in. Thus UCLA redshirt sophomore Brett Hundley, out. Staples’ gut tells him Bridgewater comes out and Hundley stays in school.

So I asked a veteran road scout who has been out this fall looking at quarterbacks—his team will be in the market for one in the 2014 draft—what he thought of us having nine quarterbacks, from Bridgewater at No. 1 to Fresno State senior Derek Carr (brother of David) No. 31.

“It would not surprise me when we make our board if we have nine quarterbacks with first-round grades,’’ he said. “Not at all. Obviously, that depends on which underclassmen declare, and you hear things out there. But I could see it.’’"

It is a good year to need a QB.

I will add that I think the list is garbage, but I'm more intrigued by what the NFL Scout said.

I would LOVE to see his list of 9 QB's that deserve first round grades.

1. Bridgewater

2. Mariotta

3. Boyd

4. Hundley

5. McCarron

I can think of 5 and this is assuming Hundley even enters this year.
Ya, take a look at this top 50 prospects. It is pretty laughable. However, for the NFL Scout to make that comment, I'd assume he believes there are more than 3 QBs with potential to be franchise QBs.

Carr is an interesting prospect.

It's merely speculation that Hundley stays. I'd lean more towards him declaring than staying. I can't wait to see Hundley against Standford and Oregon. His draft status will be very telling by then.

Also, Murray is too bi-polar to get into the first round. He had a chance today to shine and simply failed miserably.

I also didn't think Mettenberger looked very impressive at all today. I realize he played a tough secondary, but he wasn't really asked to do much and never delivered a knockout blow.
Braxton Miller...lol.

If we don't get Teddy.... I'd be happy to get Marcus Mariota, I like his game.....He'd be perfect in Fisch offense.
Mariotta was the most impressive this weekend.

Really? You'll get to watch Hundley later on ESPN2.
damn thats a little high for manziel murray and braxton lol but then again its only october but still lol

I like these QBs a lot better then the QBs from the year we drafted Gabbert

Never was understood the Gabbert hype

Wasnt sold on Cam Newton

Never was a Ponder guy

Locker just never did enough in college for me to be sold on him

Dalton was always my guy

Then you have another 2nd rounder like Kap

This year I like these guys better, I still want the season to play out before I make full judgement on guys tho

I've gotta say, I love me some Teddy Bridgewater, but Marcus Mariota is really growing on me.  He went through all of his progressions today, which is something that I didn't see last season, but that he's been doing consistently the last couple games.

Both guys are gonna be stars at the next level.  I'm very confident of this.

I agree. Mariota looked so good today. The good news is it appears that we have options.

Exactly.  I'm still fully on the Teddy bandwagon, but if the Bucs do end up with the first pick, I wont be nearly as heartbroken.  Marcus Mariota would be a great consolation prize.  He's such a dangerous player.
Would not surprise me to see some Bridgewater/Mariota go 1-2 or vice versa. I think Mariota will have the better stats this year and is probably the favorite to win the Heisman but Bridgewater isn't far behind. Not a bad year to have the first pick.

I think so too.  I see Bridgewater going first overall and Mariota going 2.  If Mariota keeps this up, he may be the draft day "shocker" and go #1 overall.

But like I said, as of right now, I still want Teddy to be our franchise signal caller.

watch goff outplay hundley, lol jk my bears are gonna get demolished.

Agreed. I'd honestly be fine with Hundley too. I just really hope all 3 declare (teddy definitely will).
Bridgewater or Mariotta?...

Be prepared to hear that allllll off season
