Quote:The Clots could have used that first round pick to address that junky defense, but I guess that is better for us.

For all of their prowess in building a team that is the kind of move that bodes very poorly for a team.  Draft picks are the future and a Colt fan has to hope that their future is secure enough to withstand a seemingly wasted 1st round pick.

When you have the franchise QB already on your roster, its a lot easier to withstand wasted 1st round picks.

Of course, they can possibly shake this one because they have the only thing perhaps more valuable than 1st round picks.  A young, stud QB.  But, moves like this (if T. Rich remains terrible) can have a way of really hindering a team.
Oh god. Of course Stroudcrowd turns this thread into "the Colts are terrible!!>!!>#!@" Only you.

Yes, the Colts played terrible last night. The defense couldn't stop a nose bleed, our offense lacked rhythm (we'd be talking about a Colts win if it were not for the drops), special teams was inept, coaching decesions were questionable at best.

Oh, and Trent Richardson was not a wasted pick. Last night he actually looked pretty dang good minus the dropped catch on a screen. Other than that he averaged 4 yards per carry on VERY limited snaps/runs. Picked up blitzes like a boss and had that nice catch and run during the game (knocking over multiple defenders).

Also, LOL at Stroudcrowd saying Manning would put up 100 on our "crappy" defense. He didn't even put up 40 against your defense. And if the Colts defense is crappy, I'd hate to hear the word you'd come up with for the Jags defense.

Anyways, it's just one game. Everyone has an off day and yesterday was an off day for the Colts.  The NFL changes weekly. After week 2 the Colts were considered a fraud at 1-1, at week 5 the Colts were placed in the Super Bowl, week 6 we're back to being considered a fraud. Patriots were fraud's at 4-1, but this week they are right back in the Super Bowl conversation at 5-1 after just one week. I can go on and on.

Don't get mad at us because George Hamilton is holding back your offense. It may not be 100, but it sure is going to get ugly Sunday night. Especially after what your owner said.

George Hamilton?

Ya, Jim Irsay didn't take a shot at Manning like everyone is claiming (I mean, really?). Media doing what media does.

IF anything it's a shot at Polian and even then that's a stretch. Honestly all Irsay was saying was changing our game plan. He believes the best way to win a Super Bowl is with a team that can play great defense, be great running the ball, and still be able to throw the ball as well (like the Pats, Ravens, Steelers SB years). Instead of solely relying on the passing game.
Quote:Yes, I understand that.....but you have to weigh that vs the options the Jags did have, like waiting and franchising him if need be, or trading him at that point....which would have still been an option.

Jumping on a bad deal just because he wasn't in the future plans isn't the smartest way to do business.

I'm just hoping the 3rd day pick thing is false.

Bashes Jags for getting picks.

Defends Colts for wasting higher picks.

How does that saying go? It speaks volumes.....

Wow. you managed to post this twice....once here and once on the Jags forum. Agenda much?

Not a good spot to really pick it though. In both quotes I spoke the truth, and actually was rather reasonable too.
