Quote:I've seen a bunch of Hundley and I agree. He has tons of potential. Really really like him.

+1
I would definitely take Hundley in the second. As a second QB pick.

Kid looks ultra raw. He is not ready to start in the NFL next season.

I haven't seen enough of him to form a full opinion however he seems very good at finding the open reads and putting it on a platter for them. He also seems to have developed good pocket presence and steps up well and can throw whilst being hit. Added he has shown he can put it almost anywhere on the field and use his legs if he has too.

This seems to be the way things are going in the nfl, the pocket passer doesn't really work unless your manning or brady.

That being said louisville's receiver core is good enough and his opposition poor enough that his reads tend to be wide open for all his big plays. That will not happen in the nfl even with shorts and blackmon he will rarely get blown coverage allowing him to throw deep to a wide open receiver.

I need to see more of his short passing accuracy to throws in tight coverage as that seems to be what we need at our qb position, a guy to zip it in tight to the body so shorts blackmon and sanders can tuck it and take the contact.

All in all from what I have seen I don't think he is the second coming others make him out to be and there is a gap in class between him and luck and even wilson.

Comparing him to rg3, i think he perhaps has as good an arm but worse feet but i don't see much difference between the two as passers which I would certainly take as we will not put him as much on a limb as the skins did, though he can still take off if we need him to.

There is no doubt he has potential, a good arm and good feet.

If we sort the line with rounds 2-5 and take bridgewater in the first, i think it could be a very solid structure for us going forward especially with shorts blackmon and sanders out wide.

I do think if we put him behind the line we have and don't give him a run game (i'm thinking either resign mjd to a small contract if he wants to stay or sign ben tate for next year then draft in 2015 ) he will struggle to make an impact and we will ruin him as we have gabbert.
There are people in this thread openly wondering if Teddy Bridgewater can handle pressure in the pocket? Seriously?

You know you're damn good at football when a 310-yard, multi-touchdown, 10-ypa outing is considered "pedestrian". That just speaks to the kid's reputation.

Bridgewater has been considered the favorite for the first pick for most of the year. At this point, people are just looking for reasons he should not be the first pick. Like Lou Ferrigno said in Pumping Iron, the king of the hill can only go down.

His ceiling is uncanny. Personally I think the top three QBs are pretty much even right about now. Somebody will separate from the pack fairly soon.

meaning as taking Bridgewater in the first AND Hundley in the second??......I don't think I would do that. I'm all for taking another developmental QB in the draft after we take one in the 1st, but I was thinking more along the lines of using one of the 4th round picks for that.
LOL....people were nitpicking on Bridgewater because they claimed he gets "sacked a lot"......

Hundley's QB sack total last year was almost the total amount that Bridgewater got sacked in his first 2 seasons combined. Laughing

I really feel like he's overrated. I only see 3 potential franchise QB's in this draft. Teddy, a large drop-off then Boyd and Mariotta in no particular order.
Quote:Not to nit-pick here but he has 18 TDs...
Against 3rd rate teams...

Any college defense is a third rate unit compared to an NFL defense, therefore that argument is invalid..

I don't think he makes the schedule.

Lol... This is why you watch football from your couch. This QB class is being heralded as one of the most talented, ever.

Well 3 potential franchise QB's would make this one of the most talented QB classes ever, halfwit. I just wouldn't hedge my bets on any of the guys after that being in that "Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers" category.

QBs don't have to be in the "Peton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers" category to be a franchise QB. Those are 4 of the best QBs to ever play the game. You don't see more than 3 QBs with "Flacco, Stafford, Ryan, Eli" potential? If you don't, you should probably watch more college football. This is a really deep QB class with a lot of potential.

I think there are a few guys that MAY reach that level, but I wouldn't hitch my wagon to anybody not named Boyd, Mariotta or Bridgewater.

You might want to look up the word potential, then.

And you're where, exactly, when you watch?

was wondering that, myself...

I don't think the meaning of the word potential means that I would hitch my wagon to someone who could just as easily flame out, or worse become a mediocre starter. You ought to look up the meaning of the word "floor" in regards to draft prospects partner.
