As much as I like Gus Bradley, I would fire him in a NY minute to bring back Tom Coughlin. If the Giants don't want him, he could come take our job no complaints!
I don't know. Coughlin had his time here. I think I'd rather have a young GM, young HC, and a young team all grow together.

Coughlin is 67 years old. If he is fired, he I seriously doubt he will coach again.

I disagree. Coaching is in his blood. Dick Vermeil won a SB at close to (if not) 70 years old.

I think a perfect spot for Tom Coughlin would be the Dallas Cowboys - that is if Jerry would ever extract his head from his rear end and stop meddling. Amazing that after all these relatively unsuccessful years post Jimmy Johnson, that Jones still apparently doesn't "get it".

Although it was college football, Joe Paterno coached until he was 84, so age alone does not affect anyone's ability to be a good head football coach. In the NFL, Monte KIffin is 73.

I would not fire Gus Bradley for the sake of bringing back Coughlin. With the lack of talent in Jacksonville, even Bill Belichick could never produce a winner this season.
I don't think the rumor mill is really spinning on this.  The article references the half time show for the game last night, and I saw the segment.  It was made clear the team had no intention of firing Coughlin.  They have too much respect for what he's done for the organization since taking over, including those two titles. He's not going anywhere unless he makes the decision it's time to hang it up.

How much actual coaching was Joe Pa doing for the last 7 years of of that?

Paterno was a figure head. He wasn't able to call plays and couldn't even tell you what was going on half the time.

If they make a decision that its time to move on I'm sure they'll spin it to make it look like it was Coughlin's choice.

I think Coughlin is hanging it up if he does get canned. He's done enough. Seeing him in Dallas would be interesting though.

Coughlin's not in his 80's and prowling the sidelines with a headset that's plugged into the Wendy's drive thru.

The Mara family holds him in extremely high regard.  He's hit a rough patch, but Tom will find a way to turn it around and salvage something from that team this year.  They won't be slow walking him out of the building any time soon.

Well said,   Tim.

Tom Coughlin was the Super Bowl winning coach as recently as 20 months ago.     He certainly hasn't lost his ability to coach since then.      The Giants issues are a combination of not enough talent,    injuries,   and an incredible amount of turnovers through their first 6 games.
