Quote:It begs the question then, why don't we get many high end/top shelf free agents?

Well we didn't targeted any.
Quote:I'm fine. It IS because of what the article said which mentions nothing about being easy to negotiate with.

The fact is, you have been negative about almost everything lately and this is a positive article that you are somehow trying to spin.

Let's be honest, I've been vocal about moves I disagree with, but I'm just as vocal in my support for the team. I'm not a cheerleader never have been I'm upfront in how I see things, maybe that comes off as negative however that's just the tone of a team this bad. No spin attempted, just conversation, opposing view points are not always spin.

Quote:I didn't read it that way at all.  His point was a fair one. The front office/personnel are open with their assessments of players when agents inquire.  I'd hardly call that cozy.  What it does is foster a sense of trust between the guy negotiating a big contract, and the team that will be on the hook to pay for it.  When an agent knows where they stand with a team, it makes the normal negotiating process less of a hassle.  Fewer holdouts.  Less protracted contract disputes.  Less drama.  If the team has a good relationship with an agent, they're more likely to get more consideration when those agents have clients hitting free agency.

makes sense, I do like the fact that they seem way more professional then past regimes, I wonder if the upgraded facilities has anything to do with our new found approval among the business side of things?

Again makes sense when you put it that way.

Quote:I take it to mean the Jaguars are an honorable organization. You can be fair and still be tough. There is nothing wrong with having the reputation that makes others want to work with you. This is isn't Congress you know. Smile

Thank God.......eh never mind :whistling:

Quote:Do you prefer the guy who gives you free stuff, but then hides extra costs when you buy from him to the guy who is up front and honest but doesn't give you anything free?

Honesty isn't always profitable in sales, I know people like to think the honest salesman wins in the end, truth is most of the time his customers abuse his honesty and he goes broke. seen it 1000 times before...........

Because this year was about clearing out the debris. They intend to build through the draft and supplement through free agency. I'm pretty sure they've only said that at least a dozen times.

The Jags front office are cheap.  Building through the draft is good in theory but with a team this bad it is going to take a century.

Any NFL team is lucky to get 3 solid starters out of any draft.  This team needs starters all over the field.

The Jags are going to have to spend a good amount of money in FA or this process is going to take a very long time
