Quote:I've only really mentioned the Colts over the past 12 months and that's because you guy's ego's compared to your teams actual performance puts even the Texans fans to shame.

You even are now calling yourself an "Elite organasiation". You are hardly the packers with their championships and their storied history and hardly play at Lambeau field.

In fact your team is still overshadowed by the Baltimore version, and your owner seems more meddling and annoying than Jerry Jones.

and Trent Richardson....hey we jags fans know what happens when you waste 1st round picks too often, and you guys seem to be good at that lately.

However Freeman is a beast, he played great from what I saw of your game. Luck was better than i've seen him play before too, he may be on the verge of being a top 10 qb if he continues...

Nobody seriously considers the Indianapolis Colts legacy part of Baltimore. Jim Irsay took over the team in the late 1990s from his dreaded father, Bob Irsay. Since that time the Colts have absolutely been an elite organization. In fact since Jim Irsay took over the Colts in 1997, they have been among the most consistent winners in the NFL.  Not only are they among the most elite organizations in the NFL but in all of sports.

BTW...

The Baltimore legacy is a bit over-rated. Here are the records of the famed Baltimore Colts for the their last 15 years in Baltimore.

1983   NFL     Baltimore Colts          7          9

1982   NFL     Baltimore Colts          0          8          1

1981   NFL     Baltimore Colts          2          14

1980   NFL     Baltimore Colts          7          9

1979   NFL     Baltimore Colts          5          11

1978   NFL     Baltimore Colts          5          11

1977   NFL     Baltimore Colts*        10       4

1976   NFL     Baltimore Colts*        11       3

1975   NFL     Baltimore Colts*        10       4

1974   NFL     Baltimore Colts          2          12

1973   NFL     Baltimore Colts          4          10

1972   NFL     Baltimore Colts          5          9

1971   NFL     Baltimore Colts*        10       4

1970   NFL     Baltimore Colts*        11       2     1

1969   NFL     Baltimore Colts          8          5

The 1981 and 1982 Colts are regarded among the worst teams in NFL history. Only the strike saved the 1982 Colts from a likely 0-16 record. This team had such a bad reputation John Elway refused to play for them in 1983.

You can't live in the past.

I love revisionist history.
I think you can thank Bill Polian/manning for your winning run. He drafted strike after strike in the earlier years.

If i was to ask around the office now who the Colts are nobody would have a clue. But I bet some would have heard of the 49ers, Cowboys, Giants, Patriots, Packers. Now I would call those the elite organisations.

Hell my girlfriend even knows who Tom Brady is...Andrew Luck not so much.

Aren't they all? Smile
Quote:the more things change, the more they stay the same. sigh. they seem to be a perennial playoff team. its like the manning era all over again.  Are we ever gonna win this division Wallbash   Wallbash  Wallbash  Wallbash  Wallbash

The Colts are good, no doubt....and I predicted this quick Colts topping the division would happen, (at Andrew Luck's drafting) only to get flamed and have people actually try to criticize Andrew Luck and say he wasn't going to be good because of "arm strength" LOLOLOL!!!! I'm sure they'll all deny that now (typical) .

The only thing I will add is this:

Trent Richardson is no Edgerrin James.

At this stage of the ascent, I don't see the current Colts run being nearly as dominant as the previous one, but all it takes is to get that one stud playmaker in the draft and that could change.

The Jags need to get Teddy or you might as well forgetaboutit for the next 10 years.

Jags should have tanked for Luck that year, but no....gottagetthosemeaninglesswinsindeadseason

To be fair what players or coaches are going to tank on purpose? It may help the team get better but they will likely lose their jobs.

Polian and Jim Caldwell hardly benefitted from their tanking did they?

Polian was likely retiring soon anyway, so what did he care?

As for Caldwell, other than the fact that he wasn't all that great of a head coach to begin with and was going to be fired with a regime change anyway.....I'd say he benefitted too...wound up in Baltimore and got a SB ring. Not a bad trade off.

Just because I think the colts are average doesn't mean I'm not right about everything...
Quote:O.o what? The clots finally found themselves a little bit of a D. Luck>Garrard, Hilton and Wayne>who were our WRs in 07? tell me... whatever you're smoking... is it good?

Not that it matters, but you needed a minimum of three Pro Bowlers in the front seven to even have a chance of stopping MJD and Fred Taylor in 2007.
