Quote:I understand it's important to get a franchise QB, but what do we do about the other 7 pathetic offensive starters and the 6 0r 7 defensive starters?    We practically need a whole new team.
once you have a franchise QB, everything else is easy to find

2nd and 3rd round + Free Agency + Time.

You'd be surprised how much replacing the weakest link on a defense would improve it.  This rebuild isn't going to happen in two offseasons.  But a franchise QB is the most important piece.  Being able to move the ball effectively down the field will make this team look like a difference between night and day.
You get nothing in starting Henne. You know what you get from him. Gabbert still had the possibility to be the guy, (really small one).

There's no reason to start Henne. You will lose either way.

You get to not watch a scared little boy who is complete garbage play football.

That sounded better a month ago. It's just embrassing now with Gabbert out there.

Do you want whats best for the team or for your Sundays to be entertaining? Tell me.
I've supported Gabbert for 2 1/2 Years, but no more. He should've stayed in school.

End the Gabbert Era, and unleash STANZI!!!!!!

Or call Byron, or Josh...that works too.

It's funny some people on here think Gabbert still has potential to be good in this league. What does the man has to do at this point for you to get the picture?
Quote:Henne is leaps and bounds better than Gabbert.

Yup. That's why when Henne came in to replace Gabbert last year we won so many more games than we did with Gabbert at the helm (against a softer schedule). That's why we scored so many more points tonight after Henne came in. You're delusional if you think we have a QB on the roster who's leaps and bounds better than Gabbert. And this isn't in any way praise of Gabbert.

Why can't it happen in two offseasons? Andy Reid had 50 new players on the Chiefs training camp roster then picked up a discarded Alex Smith to lead that former 2-14 team to 5-0 this season. If it can be done in K.C. it can be done in Jacksonville.

lol henne > gabbert by a mile
The whole Gabbert / Henne debate is pointless.

They both suck really badly in different ways.  Henne is the lesser of two evils, but neither should be starting in this league and Gabbert isn't even back-up material these past two games.

I'd bet 100 bucks that Stanzi would outperform them both handily and I hope he gets a chance to do so.

Gabbert is absolute trash, I would much rather have David Garrard out there then this disaster. I agree with the team, don't get Tebow or Freeman, suck bad enough to guarantee you either Teddy Bridgewater, Taj Boyd or maybe even Johnny Football himself.

I'd take Fiedler over this.

Eyes on the prize - 1st pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

We need to ummm, "evaluate" Gabberd's play conclusively.

Ahem.

+1

We need that 1st. Pick in the draft... I hope his hammy is alright. I'm sure JDR defense will welcome him to Denver.

Where are the 6 PRO BOWLERS on our roster, that the Chiefs had on theirs? They had the talent to hit the ground running.

5foot7

Johnny Football might be there for pick #33 so I think we're good.

He's a head case.....Pass. We can't take chances.... We need a true franchise QB.
I don't blame Gabbert, I blame the coaches for starting him

It takes courage and resolve to trot Gabbert out there week after week knowing the result and knowing that getting that result will eventually benefit the very fans that are throwing their arms up and pleading to the Heavens. I'm beginning to develop a very healthy respect for Caldwell and Bradley. They are showing no signs of panic or flinching.
