He has the potential and he played very well all things considered but I'm with Deacon on this. As I said before, yes they won by a large margin. Yes they dominated. It was a team domination culminated by Clemson laying an egg. FSU is far too talented, their depth and talent level is awesome. They've come a long ways under Jimbo. They're the most talented team in the country all around. Now they finally have a QB with the mental ability to handle the big game situations. He's got special talent, he's going to lead them to a title. Probably multiple though opportunities likely will be limited with him leaving for the draft. I hope we see FSU vs Bama. I want to see that happen. FSU as a team is the real deal.

you guys are all nuts. Jameis has been legit, very impressive as QB for Florida state. No one is denying that. But he's only a few games in to his college career and he is playing for an absolutely loaded team. Its a little bit like kaepernick stepping into a loaded 49ers team and winning games. He is def very good compared to all the crap fsu qbs from the past few years holding them back but you can't start saying he is going to be the best ever, or he is better than teddy (because teddys team is awful) , saying he made Boyd look bad is no surprise, Boyd sucks.

 

 

You gotta give this one a couple years and let itplay out. Here is hoping that the kid kills it and goes number 1 and the jaguars are drafting 31 spots later.

To be fair, it is true that FSU has great WR's, RB's, and OL, but EJ Manuel had nearly the same identical cast around him the past 2 years, and had never looked as good as how Jameis looks right now.

That is fair, but all it says is that Winston is better than Manuel. I think Manuel is an okay Quarterback, but it's not like he was setting the world on fire.

 

I think Winston will easily surpass Manueal when it is all said and done, but like most every other player he needs his time in college in order to realize all of his sky's-the-limit potential. I hope he gets the very best QB coaching possible while he is at FSU, what he can become is really exciting.

Winston was as good as it gets last night. He was phenomenal from start to finish. In the course of every game a QB will miss a read, sail a throw, underthrow, etc. What he did last night was exceptionally awesome. He's special.

 

I agree with him being special, but he also had the opportunity to lean on a running game that racked up 103 yards, a Defense that forced four turnovers, an Offensive Line that kept his jersey remarkably clean, and a set of Receivers that cranked out a lot of yards after the catch. He was absolutely instrumental in the win, but he did not put up 51 points all by himself.

 

All of that said, the kid is going to be a handful for anyone to go up against. I wonder if he'll even lose a game while in college.

How does Teddy look if he has the FSU offense which people seem to think is just Winston. Those guys are no slouches, and the team overall is loaded. Most come from that huge infusion of talent from having the top recruiting class in the nation about 2-3 years ago.

EJ Manuel had these same receivers and looked average.

You answered you own question...because EJ was average. Those WRs are not average, that offense as a whole is not average.

Winston is a stud. Best QB there since Ward for sure. What impresses me a ton though is the offensive line. They are giving Winston a ton of time to throw.

I was at the Jaguar game yesterday and been to them all the past I don't know 15 or 16 years.  Good try though. 

 

I specifically remember you saying in the off season this year that you were going to watch the Falcons this year.  I guess that has changed since they are 2-5 or whatever they are.

Winston is better than Luck for that matter. The best qb prospect to ever come out

If I had to guess, I'd guess Winston will be a Cardinal. 

 

If this draft class were weaker, I could see waiting around for Winston.  But it's really not.  And this team needs a QB desperately.
