Quote:Austin Pasztor...Next product of the hype machine?

The guy was listed at G, has taken majority of his reps at G, yet could not unseat the struggling and the weakest link of the OL in Rackley...and suddenly he's going to magically turn into the RT of our future...where he'll be more in space compared to inside at guard?

That damn hype machine....it's at it again.
Pasztor went to UVA as a tackle. But wind up moving to guard and started as a true freshman next to Eugene Monroe.

We'll find out soon enough if he has the ability to play out in space.
I don't have high hopes for Pasztor, but if he's better than Bradfield maybe he can at least help open a running lane occasionally for MJD or whomever along with Uche. With Rackley in there they won't succeed running left very often.

I'm not even gonna worry about pass protection until they change QBs.   Gabbert wouldn't know a perfectly formed pocket if it jumped up and bit him in the rump.

I didn't even think the offensive line was that bad last week. It amazes me how poor Gabbert is in the pocket. It is unlike anything I have ever seen in person by an NFL quarterback.

Actually, the guy has taken a vast majority of his reps at RT.  He played there almost exclusively in preseason.  When he came into the game, Bradfield would move to LT and he'd be RT.  Novak was usually at guard.

True - They pass-protected much better - but the run blocking was still pretty horrible.

And yes - Gabbert has a very special non-ability at everything quarterback related other than actually throwing the football.
I have no idea why Nowak isn't starting

Because he isn't on the roster.

But yeah, I was shocked when he was cut.  He was playing better than Rackley, Nwaneri, and Brewster from what I saw.

Teddy?
Nowak

He's on the PS.  Maybe he needs a bit more work with the ZBS?  Dunno....

Interesting that they've signed 2 guards off waivers in the past 3 weeks and one of them is on the 53 roster.  (McClendon)

Doesn't bode well for Nowak.
He's still with the team. Maybe on the practice squad.

Doesn't matter if Gabbert has a clean pocket or not, but removing blockers for our RBs will help ensure we get Teddy. MJD aint even a fit for the zoneblocking which is why Caldwell said he aint trading him
Nice.  That made my day.  I didn't even realize he was signed to the PS.  I guess I missed that memo after he was cut.

I've met Nowak a few times and he doesn't seem to be big enough to play in the league. If you saw him and didn't know his profession, NFL guard would not be your first guess.

He was an undersized DT when signed.  Might be part of the reason he's on PS  -  to see if he can bulk up.

the line did play OKAY last week.  gabs just wants to please the defensive linemen and make sure they get their sack lunch.
