Quote:Freeman, Why Not?

Because we're trying (i hope) to get Bridgewater, thats why not.

Because the extra 2-3 wins that this slug might provide - in the big picture does little but knock you out of the top 2-3 picks in the draft, thus in the long run you remain right where you're at, thats why not....
Quote:well...Caldwell didn't say even if he's released, so there's a chance

Yeah, he might be dumb enough to sign him....
Quote:Don't think I would want him. Increases our chance of winning a few meaningless games,.

Thats what some of these ignoramous's want apparently.

I'd rather keep losing and ensure a top 2 pick which will serve us better as we go on.

Quote:lol at the people that wanted to trade a draft pick for this bum

who was that????
Quote:He's a vet he doesn't go through waiver claims.

Um... yes.  Yes, he does.

That's, uh... why they call it a waiver wire.

Difference being, a waiver pickup would pick up the remainder of his salary.

Passing waivers means negotiate a new deal if you sign him.

Just look at the thread created about it.  It's not hard.

Every time you mention someone else being dumb, it makes me chuckle.  Every single time.
Does the name-calling in this thread serve any real purpose or is it just to make you seem angry?

And why do I feel like  this is a conversation that an Elementary School Teacher should have with a student instead of adult to adult?

Vested veterans (4+ years) become free agents immediately.

Freeman is a vested veteran, so no waivers for him.
I'm guessing the by the thread title the OP had to have been started by a Texans/ Titans/ Colts fan, because only they would say "Jags HAVE to sign Josh Freeman"...

They are starting to fear that we might get the best QB in the draft, and they don't want that to happen, because then we'll likely own the division for a good while.

I think it makes them feel better about themselves since our team is crappy lol
Interesting Article about Josh Freeman and the possibility of him coming to Jacksonville

Intelligent fans are aware that it makes no sense and that it's never happening.

If it happens, the management of this team is clueless.

Guiding this team towards Bridgewater should be the only thing on its mind.

Adding Freeman only hurts those chances.

Lets hope we have intelligent management......which the notion of which took a hit this past week.

That's because you do not fall into the intelligent fan category.
Anyone remember when Trent Edwards was released by the Bills and a very large portion of this message board was jumping through hoops with excitement when the Jags landed him?

How'd that work out for you?

"Attempts to trade Freeman were unsuccessful. He is now eligible to be claimed off the waiver wire, though in that scenario another team would have to pick up the balance of Freeman's $8 million-plus salary."
Comparing Josh Freeman to Trent Edwards? Thats a new one, thats like comparing Chad Pennington to Quinn Gray
