9.5 mil. cap hit next year, highest paid MLB in the league

We'll according to that one post he currently leads the NFL in tackles and has played pretty well this year. He may be at least trying to justify his contract next year.

Leading the NFL in tackles doesnt mean much when they rarely make an impact. Poz makes tackles 5 yards down the field, rarely does he shoot a gap and get a TFL. He only has 1 of those on the season. And had less than 7 in 2012 and 2011, I couldnt find the exact number because he wasnt in the top 100.

Combine that with how bad he is in coverage, and you have the most overpaid player on the team.

That's debatable but you usually don't get rid of players, especially starters without having a replacement. Its the same reason why Babin, Alualu, Lewis, Uche etc all still have jobs and also what made Monroe expendable.

I would like to play L. Reynolds some at MLB to see how he does.
Picks, picks and more picks......that's how you increase your hits.

Remember the draft is the best of the best from college.

Next years is deep, way deep.

We are having a fire sale. I'm just not sure what we can get for lowery (6th maybe?), mincey (bagel), Poz (one grape, that contract isn't friendly), and Babin (just cut him).

I really really hope lowery is next. Sit Ball and Blackmon, I really want to have an all rookie secondary. I love the potential there.
I would definitely be dangling MJD and Lowery out there. I would think a team like the Panthers would definitely like a guy like Lowery in their questionable secondary. MJD's stock has plummeted, but some contender like a Denver or someone might be interested. Especially given his pass protection ability to keep Manning clean.

Yea..........he has a lot of tackles but they are 7-10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage.
Not to mention teams with bad offenses always have padded tackle stats being the defense is on the field waaaaay more than other team's defenses.

I doubt anyone is going to trade for a RB that is almost 30 years old, coming off a major injury, and hasn't done that well.  Especially when he is a FA next year.

Quote:Monroe is gone so why not see what else we can get for some of the other vets on the team

MJD at this point anything

Lewis Anything as well with his salary

Lowery any interest?

I hope to see more players traded before the trade deadline.  If this is a complete rebuild then go all out
MJD- Worth nothing really

Lewis- No, he is a good player, still has 3 years left on his deal, i know many of the fans dont like him, but he is a good player

Lowery- Has trade value. We have 3 guys who could start at safety in the NFL. Evans, Cyprien and Lowery. I say see what he can get for Lowery and start Evans.

Babin- May have some value, probably not.

Posluzny- Yea, he really is just a tackler. Just there, way over paid. See what you can get for him, id say keep him because who would replace him? But next year not sure if he will be here

I've never heard of a calf injury causing a guy to miss a month and a half. That's pretty weird? I would muse some type of behind the scenes trading block thing happening, but after thinking about it more that really doesn't make sense. I'd figure he'd want to play to let teams know he's healthy. It's just really strange.

Lowery is the only player left with any notable trade value. I just wonder if other teams realize he's a solid FS. He's got a favorable contract, I'd say he's at least worth a 6th rounder.

Can we trade Gabbert?

Quote:Can we trade Gabbert?
If we can find a trade partner dumb enough then yes in a heartbeat.

Poz- Most tackles?  It's easy when the defense is on the field most of the game
Quote:Lol .1000 obviously
Basic math 101 amirite?

I'd be cool with the idea if our GM had any bargaining skill whatsoever.

At this rate we could trade away all of our players and only wind up with a mass of 5th through 7th rounders.

Other teams have fire sales, like the Marlins in baseball and usually actually get a solid return that they then use for the rebuild....Caldwell gets pennies on the dollar for legit assets like Monroe.

smh....

I'm going to repeat this until someone gets it.   The asset we traded was Monroe for 12 games.   Games we were not going to win anyway.   All the Ravens got for those draft picks was a 12 game contract.   Suppose we don't trade Monroe?   We're in the same position at the end of the year, except that we don't have those draft picks.   THAT WOULD BE REALLY STUPID.     Monroe signs with another team and you would be complaining about how we didn't trade him when we could have.  And guess what?   If we like him so much, we can still sign him at the end of the year!   BECAUSE HE'S A FREE AGENT!   Then we have him, PLUS the draft picks.

So, don't trade him, and you have nothing.   Trade him, and you have some draft picks.   What is wrong with that?

Quote:watch us pull a cleveland browns and win the next two games after making a huge trade  :woot:
I dont think we have any worries there! we will not win a game this year which is a good thing!
I think yesterday was the start of the in season fire sale. I see it mentioned on here, but I sure hope Poz is next. Get what you can.
