Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech is a guy I hope we take a hard look at in the 3rd. I think he will be one of if not the top TE in the class. Character issues is a concern but hopefully he gets that figured out by the time the draft rolls around. He could put on a little weight but could be a force as a receiving threat in the passing game.
He honestly may go in the 1st, I definitely think the Jags should go TE in either the 2nd or the 3rd.
I'd take him at the top of the 2nd with no questions asked.
Assuming we draft Teddy in the first, we have to shift attention to improving the trenches. You're not going to win many games with both lines consistently losing
We need to do what we did last year. Take the BAP at the top of round two. Imagine if we had another player with the raw talent of Cyp?
Amaro may very well be BAP at #33/34, if he slides. He good. (I'm a Tech fan)
Man if Amaro does indeed flip and declare (he originally said on twitter he was staying in school) he is going to be a top 20 pick. He is establishing himself as easily the best TE in the draft. Pray that Ebron or ASJ falls instead those are actually possible.
One of Ebron, ASJ, or Amaro has to fall to #33. Has to...right..?

Maybe...just maybe

I'm pretty sure one of them will. Safarian-Jenkins being the most likely. Tight ends seem to have a way of slipping in the draft unless they are an absolute freak like Vernon Davis.

It's kind of ironic that ASJ legitimately has a chance to fall to round two, given he is such a freak of a physical specimen. Obviously Vernon Davis is in another world in the speed category, especially for a tight end, but ASJ is built like a truck and I think he'll have a much better NFL career than NCAA.
not a big fan of taking a TE that early
Doubt he falls to the 2nd round. Dude is a player. However, if we see a little more from Lewis like we did Sunday I don't think we will take a TE in the 2nd when we desperately need help on the d line. Before you flame me, I'm a big Lewis critic but the guy showed a flash against the Tacks and we have bigger needs other than TE

Eh, I think Marcedes and the team both know he's gone after this year. He's come up short and has been injured half the year. One awesome catch and run where he throws a guy out of bounds isn't going to change that.
I would think if one of the "big three" tight ends falls to #33, we'd take whichever one. But then again, I'm just an armchair GM.
^^ Valid point. Could happen. I just think it all depends on which DE or DL falls as well. Would be nice to get Teddy a security blanket though

No.
TE metrics exposed him

Agreed. I'm not high on the DEs that will most likely be available in the 2nd but I would take a chance on a player like Dominique Easley to fill that Red Bryant-role on the line. Otherwise I'd be all for getting another weapon for Teddy.

From looking around on the internet it looks to me that there is a chance Amaro could fall to us in the 2nd. If he falls past NE there is a chance he could fall to us.
Ebron looks to be the top TE in most eyes, I dont see Ebron falling
If we could get Sammy Watkins in the 1st and Jace Amaro in the 2nd, it would give us a top WR and TE combo for years to come IMO. Next year we could cut Lewis and save 6.65 mil
